FLUIDIC ACTUATOR MANUFACTURING METHOD
20230226773 · 2023-07-20 ·

A method of constructing an inflatable fluidic actuator. The method includes coupling a first interface to a tube configuration of membrane material at a first tube end by coupling the first interface to the tube configuration at the first tube end by generating at least one of: a first bond between the membrane material and one or more first sidewalls of the first interface and a first external face bond between membrane material at the first tube end onto a first external face of the first interface.

BICYCLE FRAME COMPONENT AND METHOD FOR THERMOFORMING THE SAME
20230036877 · 2023-02-02 ·

A method for thermoforming a bicycle frame component includes the steps of: (A) preparing first and second casings both made of a thermoplastic material, the first casing having a first abutment surface, the second casing having a second abutment surface; (B) preparing a reinforcing unit; (C) abutting the first and second abutment surfaces against each other, and then placing the reinforcing unit at a junction of the first and second casings; and (D) thermally bonding the reinforcing unit to the first and second casings such that the first and second casings are joined to form the bicycle frame component. A bicycle frame component is also disclosed.

Fluidic actuator manufacturing method

A method of constructing an inflatable fluidic actuator that includes generating a tube configuration with one or more shapes of fluid-impermeable membrane material, the tube configuration having a first tube end and a second tube end and an internal tube face and an external tube face. The method also includes coupling a first and second interface to the tube configuration at the first and second tube ends by respectively coupling each interface to the tube configuration at a respective tube end by generating at least one of: a first circumferential bond between the fluid-impermeable membrane material and one or more sidewalls of the interface; and an external face bond between fluid-impermeable membrane material at the tube end onto an external face of the interface.

PROTECTIVE BARRIER COMPRISING A SEAM HAVING AN INTEGRATED DUSTCOVER SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR ITS USE
20170356201 · 2017-12-14 ·

The present protective barrier is similar to those commonly installed beneath ceilings during construction work being performed on ceilings or roofs of buildings, wherein two or more sections are sewn together to construct the protective barrier. However, the present protective barrier also comprises a dustcover, which covers the seam entirely preventing dust from passing through holes created when the seam is sewn using a thread or similar means.

SEAM TAPE AND RELATED METHODS AND PRODUCTS

A polyolefin-containing seam tape is described herein. The polyolefin may be at least one of a homopolymer, copolymer, terpolymer, or a polymer blend of polyethylene, polypropylene, or a combination of the two. The seam tape may be used to form a bonded, reinforced, or waterproofed seam. The seam tape may be used in equipment or apparel that may or may not be recyclable.

METHOD OF ASSEMBLING A STACK-UP WITH ADHESIVE SQUEEZE-OUT CAPTURE
20170313026 · 2017-11-02 ·

A method is provided for assembling a stack-up including a first workpiece with a clearance hole and a second workpiece. The method comprises adhering an adhesive to a first face of the first workpiece so as to completely cover and close the clearance hole and securing the second workpiece to a second face of the first workpiece with an adhesive. A stack-up and the method of capturing adhesive squeeze-out during a stack-up assembly process are also disclosed.

Method for applying reinforcing seam tape
09731449 · 2017-08-15 · ·

A method for applying a thermoreactive seam tape to a seam is provided. The thermoreactive seam tape may be positioned adjacent to the seam, which may include a first fabric surface and an adjacent second fabric surface. The thermoreactive seam tape may include an interior planar surface that engages both the first fabric surface and the second fabric surface of the seam. The thermoreactive seam tape may further include an exterior surface opposite the interior surface, where the exterior surface is substantially non-planar with respect to the interior planar surface along a length of the thermoreactive seam tape. Heat and pressure may be applied to the thermoreactive seam tape, wherein the heat and the pressure facilitate adhesion of the thermoreactive seam tape to the first fabric surface and the second fabric surface of the seam.

SEAM CONSTRUCTION USING RADIO FREQUENCY WELDING AND TAPE
20170266871 · 2017-09-21 ·

A process of constructing an air tight and water tight seam, comprising cutting a sheet of selected material into two or more panels, sealing the panels at respective selected edges using an ultrasonic machine to form a seam, overlaying the seam with a tape made of the same selected material, and sealing the tape and seam using a radio frequency (RF) welding machine.

Simplified method for making an impermeable joining on three-layer or bi-layer fabric materials, either with or without a complex construction on a joining side thereof and being preliminarily joined by a stitching or ultrasound joining arrangement

A simplified method for making an impermeable joining on three-layer or bi-layer fabric materials, either with or without a complex construction on a joining side thereof, and being preliminarily joined by a stitching or ultrasound joining arrangement, wherein the method comprises only two method steps, a first joining step of joining two fabric material panels and a second impermeabilizing step carried out by cauterizing and sealing a strip element, and being performed by a single machine in a single operation thereof.

METHOD OF FORMING A SPLICED JOINT IN A HANDRAIL OR OTHER ELONGATE ARTICLE

A handrail has a thermoplastic body having a generally C-shaped cross section, a stretch inhibitor in the thermoplastic body above a T-shaped slot and a slider fabric layer. The handrail includes first and second end portions, each comprising a forward part extending from an end surface of the end portion and a rear part adjacent the forward part. A method of forming a joint can include: providing cuts to separate a top section of the thermoplastic body from a base section including shoulder portions; for each end portion, removing at least shoulder portions from the forward part thereof, to leave a central portion including a forward part at the slider fabric layer and a layer of thermoplastic; cutting the forward parts to a required shape; and assembling the first and second end portions together to form a spliced joint for moulding.
