A laminate tube with an invisible longitudinal overlapped side seam formed from overlap welding an edge of one margin of a laminate sheet comprising an outer plastic layer (A), a barrier layer (B), and an inner plastic layer (C) of the same material type as the outer plastic layer (A) to the other edge of the opposite margin of the laminate sheet, such that an inner surface of the laminate tube has a hump in a overlapped region, while an outer surface of the laminate tube is smooth without a hump in the overlapped region; and a process for manufacturing the laminate tube by a laminate tube manufacturing machine. The laminate permits fracture-proof welding of longitudinal margins of said laminate to give a continuous tube which is suitable for manufacturing of high-quality plastic tubes, high-quality plastic bags and the like.
HELICALLY WOUND PIPE AND RELATED METHOD
A pipe includes an elongate strip wound into a tubular pipe form with the upper surface and the ribs at an exterior of the tubular pipe form, and with a first portion of a first side overlapping a first portion of a second side along a helical joint. A plastic seam weld is applied between the overlapping first portions for bonding the overlapping first portions together. A plastic overweld extends over the overlapping first portions and over both a second portion of the first side and a second portion of the second side. The second portion of the first side is adjacent to the first portion of the first side and does not overlap with any part of the second side, and the second portion of the second side is adjacent to the first portion of the second side and does not overlap any part of the first side.

The disclosure presents a wind turbine blade and a method of manufacturing a wind turbine blade, wherein the wind turbine blade is manufactured as a composite structure comprising a reinforcement material embedded in a polymer matrix, the method comprising: providing a first blade mould with a first blade shell part having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a first leading edge glue surface at the leading edge, the first blade mould comprising a first leading edge flange; providing a second blade mould with a second blade shell part having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a second leading edge glue surface at the leading edge, the second blade mould comprising a second leading edge flange; applying glue to a leading edge glue surface; providing one or more leading edge spacer elements at a leading edge flange; arranging the second blade mould on the first blade mould, such that the one or more leading edge spacer elements are arranged between the first leading edge flange and the second leading edge flange; applying a pressure to the second blade shell part; and curing the glue.
Wind turbine blade with improved glue joint and related method
A blade shell part for a wind turbine blade and a wind turbine blade are disclosed. The blade shell part is made of a composite structure comprising a reinforcement material embedded in a polymer matrix, the blade shell part extending from a tip end to a root end, wherein the blade shell part comprises: a blade shell body with a leading edge and a trailing edge, and a first glue flange extending from the leading edge and having a first glue flange edge and a first glue surface with a first width, wherein the first glue flange is provided with one or more spacer elements. Further, a method of manufacturing a wind turbine blade is described.
Composite components having T or L-joints and methods for forming same
Composite components having a T or L-shaped configuration that include features that reduce void defects between abutting laminate portions and provide improved mechanical properties are provided. Methods for forming such components are also provided. In one exemplary aspect, a composite component defines a first direction and a second direction and includes a wedged-shaped noodle at a joint interface between an abutting first laminate portion extending along the first direction and a second laminate portion extending along the second direction. The noodle has a first surface that is angled with respect to the second direction. At least one of the plies of the second laminate portion terminate and attach to the angled first surface of the noodle.
A WIND TURBINE BLADE WITH A FAIRING
A prefabricated fairing for a wind turbine blade comprising fairing lips and exterior and interior fairing surfaces, wherein the fairing has a first fairing state in which the fairing is adapted to be mounted to a blade body of the wind turbine blade and a second fairing state in which the fairing is adapted to be fixed to the blade body, the fairing lips being compressed towards each other in the second fairing state relative to the first fairing state, wherein the fairing is brought from the first fairing state to the second fairing state upon application of a compression force onto the exterior fairing surface at fairing lips, wherein a difference between a first fairing lip distance in the first fairing state and a second fairing lip distance in the second fairing state is equal to or greater than 5 mm.

Composite Components Having T or L-Joints and Methods for Forming Same
