Joint structure
A joint structure includes a first member and a second member. The first member includes a projection having a distal end and a base end. The distal end is thicker than the base end. The second member is made of a material different from a material of the first member and has a fitting groove into which the projection is to be inserted. The projection includes, on its surface, an inclined surface extending from the distal end to the base end and inclined with respect to a facing direction in which the first member and the second member face each other. The projection at least includes a plurality of fiber-containing layers that each have a sections in which a fiber extends along the inclined surface.
Method for manufacturing flexible metal-clad laminated plate
A method for manufacturing a flexible metal-clad laminated plate includes the steps of: (a) obtaining a laminated body by laminating a polyimide resin film including a non-thermoplastic polyimide layer and an adhesive layer containing thermoplastic polyimide, the adhesive layer being provided on at least one side of the non-thermoplastic polyimide layer, and a metal foil; and (b) subjecting the laminated body obtained in the step (a) to heat treatment under an inert gas atmosphere and a pressure of 0.20 to 0.98 MPa at a temperature of a glass transition temperature Tg of the thermoplastic polyimide20 C. to the glass transition temperature Tg+50 C.

METAL CLAD LAMINATE AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF
Provided are a metal clad laminate and a method for producing the same. The metal clad laminate at least includes a thermoplastic liquid crystal polymer film and a metal sheet bonded to each other, wherein the thermoplastic liquid crystal polymer film has a surface with a glossiness (20) of 55 or higher in accordance with JIS Z 8741 on the opposite side of the bonding surface to the metal sheet. The method for producing a metal clad laminate at least includes: providing a thermoplastic liquid crystal polymer film 2 and a metal sheet 6; and introducing the thermoplastic liquid crystal polymer film 2 and the metal sheet 6 between a pair of heating rolls so as to laminate them.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR JOINING METAL SLEEVE ONTO A TUBE
A process, apparatus and a catheter and a flexi needle for medical applications formed by the process of selecting a tubular flexible member and a metal/ceramic cap member to be securely joined to the tubular member, placing the cap member in engaging relation with a holding member of a material joining device, securing the tubular member on a positioning member of the material joining device, positioning a distal end of the tubular member in engaging relation with an end of the cap member positioned in the holding member, and rotating the holding member and maintaining the tubular member in frictionally engaging relation with the cap member to melt or soften a predetermined portion of the distal end of the tubular member engaged with the cap member to integrally join a predetermined portion of the distal end of the tubular member within the cap member forming a joined composite member.
Joining of polymer and surface-modified solid part
The present invention relates to alternative methods of joining a solid part (1) and a polymer (2). The methods comprise attaching a primer layer (4) with a predetermined surface chemistry, density and thickness covalently to at least a part of a surface (3) of the solid part (1). Some embodiments of the invention further comprise polymerizing second molecules onto the primer layer (4) so that the surface (3) is at least partly covered with surface immobilized polymer brushes (8). The surface (3) of the solid part (1) is brought into contact with the polymer (2) and a predetermined temperature profile is applied resulting in covalent bonds (6) being established between the polymer (2) and the primer (4), and/or polymer brushes (8) melting or softening and entangling with melted or softened polymer (2) so that the solid part (1) and the polymer (2) remain joined after cooling. The obtained strength of the bonding between the solid part (1) and the polymer (2) is significantly higher than if the same materials are joined with conventional methods not comprising the establishment of a primer layer (4).
Method for making a low ohmic pressure-contact electrical connection between split ring electrode and lead wire
A method for attaching a split ring electrode to a catheter tip section includes providing a tubing with a lumen and an opening in the tubing side wall, passing an electrode lead wire through the opening, and wrapping the lead wire around the tubing. A split ring electrode is mounted on the tubing over the wrapped lead wire and opening, with electrically-conductive thermoplastic elastomeric adhesive applied between the ring electrode and the outer surface of the tubing, and reheated to reflow.
