Storage bag
A method of making a storage bag comprising the following steps performed in any order: (a) forming a composite tube having an inner surface comprising a higher melting polymer, an outer surface comprising a lower melting polymer, two ends, and a diameter; (b) flattening the tube in a direction perpendicular to the diameter; (c) forming a joint at one of the ends at a temperature between respective melting points of the higher melting polymer and the lower melting polymer; (d) providing a composite sheet having a first side comprising a higher melting polymer and a second side comprising a lower melting polymer; and (e) disposing the composite sheet over the joint such that the first side comprising a lower melting polymer engages the joint and forming a lap seam over the joint at a temperature between respective melting points of the higher melting polymer and the lower melting polymer, and a storage bag made by such method.
METAL-RESIN JOINT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING METAL-RESIN JOINT
There are provided a metal-resin joint having high bonding strength and a manufacturing method thereof. A metal-resin joint 10 of the present disclosure includes an anchor portion 34 provided on a metal bonding surface 32 of a metal member 30. The anchor portion 34 has a pair of protrusion strips 35 and 35 protruding from the metal bonding surface 32 with a gap, a recessed groove 36 provided between the pair of protrusion strips 35 and 35, and a plurality of partitions 37 protruding from a groove bottom of the recessed groove 36. The plurality of partitions 37 are provided to be inclined toward one side Y1 in a direction in which the pair of protrusion strips 35 and 35 extend as going toward a distal end side, and to be side by side in a direction Y in which the pair of protrusion strips 35 and 35 extend.
PROCESS FOR WELDING PROFILES TO A BELT
A process for welding profiles (1) of a thermoplastic or thermoplastic elastomer to a top layer (3) of a belt (2), such as a conveyor belt, also being made of a thermoplastic or thermoplastic elastomer. The process uses thermal impulse welding and applies the welding heat onto the surface (21) of the belt (2) which is opposite to the top layer (3). The process is in particular suited for welding TPO profiles to TPO top layers.
System and method for thermoplastic welding using an induced thermal gradient
A system and method for thermoplastic composite welding comprising a cooling means and a heat source. The cooling means cools a heat-side laminate so as to create a thermal gradient in the heat-side laminate. The heat source heats the heat-side laminate after the cooling step is initiated but before the thermal gradient dissipates so that a first side of the heat-side laminate closer to the heat source does not deform as faying surfaces of the heat-side laminate and another laminate farther away from the heat source are welded together.
Method for welding parts made of thermoplastic material
A method for welding at least two parts including a thermoplastic material and having respective surfaces to be welded, including: inserting an insert between the surfaces to be welded of the two parts; generating heat via the insert; wherein the insert moves in relation to the parts to be welded in a welding direction. Also, an installation adapted for implementation of this method.
High-Speed Polymer-To-Metal Direct Joining System And Method
A method of directly joining a polymer to a metal along a joint interface through the formation of C—O—M chemical bonds, where M represents an element in the metal to be joined. The method includes heating the metal to a predetermined temperature above a glass transition temperature of the polymer and less than a flash ignition temperature of the polymer and less than a metal melting temperature of the metal; and applying force to the joint interface of the metal and the polymer to generate intimate atomic contact between the metal and the polymer to create C—O—M chemical bonds between the metal and the polymer.
Article having fluororesin joint, and method for producing such article
Provided are an article including a joint portion of a fluororesin having sufficient strength, and a method of producing the same. The article includes a joint portion including: a porous first layer of a first fluororesin; a second layer of a second fluororesin having a melting point lower than a melting point of the first fluororesin; and a non-porous third layer formed between the first layer and the second layer, the non-porous third layer including the first fluororesin.
System for joining resin and metal
A joining method for joining a resin member and a metal member by heating is provided. Joining of the resin member and metal member is performed by heating a joining interface of the resin member and metal member to a temperature in a range of equal to or higher than a decomposition temperature of the resin member and lower than a temperature at which gas bubbles are generated in the resin member and by cooling a surface of the resin member on the opposite side from a joining surface thereof with the metal member to a temperature that is lower than the melting point of the resin member.
Female loop portion having film and filaments anchored by heat-shrinking
A female loop portion for a hook and loop self-adhesive, comprising a film (1) made of at least one thermoplastic and a plurality of filaments (2) which are separate from one another and attached to one of the surfaces of the film, each filament comprising a series of fastening sections (15) and a series of loop sections (4) alternating with the fastening sections, the filaments being attached to the film along the fastening sections while the loop sections are at a distance from the film so as to form loops, and characterized in that a cross-sectional area of one loop section of a filament is less than a cross-sectional area of one fastening section of said one filament.
Method for manufacturing metal-resin joint
A method for manufacturing a metal-resin joint 30 according to the present disclosure is a method for manufacturing the metal-resin joint 30 in which a synthetic resin member 10 made of thermoplastic resin and a metal member 20 made of metal are bonded to each other, the method including: a first process of exposing a surface 12 of the synthetic resin member 10 molded into a predetermined shape, to air heated to a first temperature T1 equal to or higher than a deflection temperature under load Tf of the thermoplastic resin when a load of 1.8 MPa is applied; and a second process of bonding the surface 12 of the synthetic resin member 10 and a surface 22 of the metal member 20 to each other. Accordingly, it is possible to improve the bonding strength between the metal member 20 and the synthetic resin member 10.
