Methods of monitoring and controlling a molding process using a sensed change in strain provided by a strain gauge are provided. A target strain profile is created for a molding process of a molding apparatus. An upper and lower deviation limit from the target strain profile for the molding process is provided. If a sensed change in strain exceeds a deviation limit, an alarm is activated.

The invention further relates to the cured composition obtainable thereby.

The invention relates to a composite component that has improved bonding properties and includes a substrate (i) made of a thermoplastic polymer blend composition, and a coating (ii); in a layer located 5 to 10 μm below the boundary surface between the substrate (i) and the coating (ii), the substrate (i) has a dispersed, non-lamellar phase structure. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the composite component.

Articles are provided including at least one polyurethane prepared from: (a) about 1 equivalent of at least one polyisocyanate; (b) about 0.005 to about 0.35 equivalent of at least one polycaprolactone polyol; (c) about 0.01 to about 1.0 equivalent of at least one polyol selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, tetraethylene glycol, 1,2-ethanediol, propanediol, butanediol, pentanediol, hexanediol, heptanediol, octanediol, nonanediol, decanediol, dodecane diol, octadecanediol, cyclopentanediol, 1,4-cyclohexanediol, cyclohexanedimethanol, 1,4-benzenedimethanol, xylene glycol, hydroxybenzyl alcohol, dihydroxytoluene, bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate, 1,4-bis(hydroxyethyl)piperazine, N,N′,bis(2-hydroxyethyl)oxamide and mixtures thereof; and (d) about 0.01 to about 0.5 equivalent of at least one polyol selected from the group consisting of glycerol, tetramethylolmethane, trimethylolethane, trimethylolpropane, erythritol, pentaerythritol, dipentaerythritol, tripentaerythritol, sorbitan, and mixtures thereof, each based upon the about 1 equivalent of the at least one polyisocyanate, wherein the article has a Gardner Impact strength of at least about 400 in-lb according to ASTM D-5420-04.

A valve assembly for resin transfer molding is provided. The valve assembly includes an inlet positioned to receive a fluid. The valve assembly additionally includes a valve shaft positioned to receive the fluid from the inlet. The valve assembly further includes an outlet positioned to receive the fluid from the inlet. The valve assembly also includes an injection port positioned to receive the fluid from the valve shaft. The valve assembly also includes a piston configured to move coaxially within the valve shaft, such that the fluid is delivered from the inlet to the outlet when the piston is in a first position, and the fluid is delivered from the inlet to the injection port when the piston is in a second position.

The delivery line is configured to deliver resin and catalyst from the resin injection cylinder and catalyst injection cylinder into a borehole.
