Mold and method for vulcanizing tires
Tire vulcanizing mold able to cooperate with a curing press, said mold comprising two shells each one molding a sidewall of the tire and a ring of sectors for molding the tread of the tire, each sector comprising a support and a molding lining situated radially on the inside of the support, in which ring the sectors, when the mold is in the closed position, are all in circumferential contact one with the next via the molding linings and in radial contact on the shells via the front ends of the linings each of which forms a face for contact with the shell, said supports and linings being produced in such a way that each support is able to take up the clamping force applied to the lining coming into contact with the shell when the mold is in the closed position when said clamping force at said contact face exceeds a given threshold that is lower than the plastic threshold of the lining. A predetermined clearance (j) is provided between the lower front face of the shell and the lower front end of the support, and in that this clearance (j) is cancelled out when the mold is in the closed position.
MOLD FOR TIRE MOLDING
A plurality of segments for molding a tread part of a tire are easily opened and closed by a mold for tire molding of a simple structure. The plurality of segments (5) are energized toward an outside (R2) in the tire radial direction (R). The segments (5) each have a first contacting part (5B) which comes into contact with an outer ring (6) moved toward one side in the tire width direction, and a second contacting part (5C) which comes into contact with the outer ring (6) moved toward the other side in the tire with direction (W). The outer ring (6) has a first sliding part (6D) which pushes the first contacting part (5B) toward the inside (R1) in the tire radial direction (R) and a second sliding part (6E) which pushes the second contacting part (5C) toward the outside (R2) in the tire radial direction (R).

The press (1) for curing a green tyre has: a frame (2), at least one plate (4) that is mounted in a sliding manner with respect to the frame and comprises a plurality of pegs (22), a plurality of sectors (8) that are distributed circumferentially around the plate and are able to form all or part of the width of a tread of the tire, and, for each sector, at least one rocker (15) having at least one ramp (19) over which one of the respective pegs is able to pass.

The press (1) for curing a green tyre has: a frame (2), at least one plate (4) that is mounted in a sliding manner with respect to the frame and comprises a plurality of pegs (22), a plurality of sectors (8) that are distributed circumferentially around the plate and are able to form all or part of the width of a tread of the tire, and, for each sector, at least one rocker (15) having at least one ramp (19) over which one of the respective pegs is able to pass.
Center deck assembly for tire building drum
The invention is directed to a center deck assembly for a tire building drum. The tire building drum is rotatably mounted on a central drive shaft and includes a center section. The center deck assembly is disposed in the center section of the drum and includes a hub that seats on and is secured to the central drive shaft. At least one piston extends circumferentially in the tire building drum about the hub and a plurality of segment bars are disposed about the circumference of the center deck assembly. The at least one piston is operably connected to the segment bars by a plurality of linkages, in which each of the linkages includes a scissor-lever mechanism.
Segmented mold for a tire and related molding method
A mold for a tire is disclosed herein. The mold includes first and second shells mold-able to lateral sidewalls of the tire, and a plurality of sectors that are distributed in the circumferential direction and are mold-able to the tread of said tire. The sectors are radially movable between an open position and a closed position of the mold. The mold also comprises at least one spacing interposed between each sector and each shell in order to keep said sector and the shells spaced apart in the radial direction in the closed position of the mold, such that the shells and the sectors are in contact in the radial direction only by way of the spacing. The spacing is also able to limit the heat transfer between the shells and the sectors in said closed position.
MOLD FOR FORMING A TIRE AND TIRE PRODUCTION METHOD
Provided are a mold for forming a tire including a tread molding part which is configured to be opened and closed by moving a plurality of segments in a radial direction, and a tire production method using the same. In the mold, each of the segments includes a holder; a plurality of design surface dividing mold parts disposed in a circumferentially arranged manner on a radially inner side of the holder; and a plate spring member to which the plurality of the design surface are fixed and in which both ends of the plate spring member in a circumferential direction are fixed to the holder, and when the tread molding part is opened, by elastic deformation of the plate spring member, the plurality of the design surface are moved in a direction away from the holder with the plurality of the design surface dividing mold parts being rotated.
MOLD FOR FORMING TIRE AND TIRE PRODUCTION METHOD
The provided is a mold for forming a tire and a tire production method that can reduce the driving force required to drive the segment in the initial stage of releasing a tire from the mold. The mold for forming a tire comprises: a circular tread molding portion divided into a plurality of circumferentially aligned segments; and a tilting mechanism that tilts the segments radially outward when the tread molding portion is opened radially outward, and the tilting mechanism reverts the tilt of the segments after the tread molding portion is opened.
CENTER DECK ASSEMBLY FOR TIRE BUILDING DRUM
The invention is directed to a center deck assembly for a tire building drum. The tire building drum is rotatably mounted on a central drive shaft and includes a center section. The center deck assembly is disposed in the center section of the drum and includes a hub that seats on and is secured to the central drive shaft. At least one piston extends circumferentially in the tire building drum about the hub and a plurality of segment bars are disposed about the circumference of the center deck assembly. The at least one piston is operably connected to the segment bars by a plurality of linkages, in which each of the linkages includes a scissor-lever mechanism.
Tire mold with improved durability
A tire mold equipped with features for protecting the tread mold segments from damage is described. One or more impact absorbers are positioned between tread mold segments and operate to preclude contact between the shoulders of the tread mold segments when such are biased back into their original position as a tire is removed from the tire mold. By precluding such contact, the tread mold segments are protected from damage that can affect the appearance of the cured tire.
