Pneumatic Tire
Provided is a pneumatic tire having an innerliner member pasted on a tire inner circumferential surface, the innerliner member being constituted from an at least three-layer structure including a film having a main component of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing a blend of a thermoplastic resin and an elastomer, and rubber sheets layered on both sides of the film, the tire comprising a lap splice portion in which tire circumferential direction end portions of the film are overlapped via the rubber sheets. In the lap splice portion, the thickness of the film positioned at least on the tire radial direction inner side decreases toward the tip of the end portion thereof, and this tip bends toward the outer side or the inner side in the tire radial direction, and the tip is covered by the rubber sheets.
METHOD AND APPLICATION UNIT FOR APPLYING A SOUND-ABSORBING MATERIAL IN AN INNER CAVITY OF A PNEUMATIC TIRE
Method and application unit (3) for applying a sound-absorbing material (2) to an inner cavity of a pneumatic tyre (1). The following steps are provided: eliminating an excess end (5) of a strip (4) of sound-absorbing material (2); progressively separating a protective lining (7) from an adhesive layer (6) of the strip (4) as the strip (4) of sound-absorbing material (2) is applied to the inner cavity of the tyre; implementing by means of the strip (4) a separation opening (8) that starts from an opposite side of the protective lining (7) and ends at the protective lining (7) which remains intact, and separating the excess end (5) from the remaining part of the strip (4) of sound-absorbing material (2); and pulling the excess end (5) in relation to the remaining part of the strip such as to separate the protective lining (7) from the strip (4).
Method for manufacturing pneumatic tire
A method for manufacturing a pneumatic tire includes: a step of winding carcass plies around a molding drum to mold a carcass, wherein the carcass has a joint portion in which ends of each of the carcass plies in a tire circumferential direction are overlapped with each other, the method further includes a step of pasting a rubber tape that covers at least a part of the joint portion after winding the carcass ply, and the rubber tape has: a central portion pasted to an outside of the joint portion and extending with a constant thickness along the tire circumferential direction; and tapered portions individually extending from both ends of the central portion in the tire circumferential direction along the tire circumferential direction while reducing a thickness of each of the tapered portions, and having tip ends with an angle of 45 degrees or less.
Apparatus for applying noise-reducing elements to a tyre for vehicle wheels
Apparatus for applying noise-reducing elements to a tyre for vehicle wheels that has a radially inner surface with a service area and a circumferential dimension. The apparatus determines the position in circumferential direction of the service area, determines the position in circumferential direction of a target area on the radially inner surface of the tyre based on the position in circumferential direction of the service area, and applies a noise-reducing element the target area. The position in circumferential direction of the service area is determined by circumferentially inspecting the radially inner surface of the tyre starting from a reference position, detecting the angular position of the service area with respect to the reference position and determining the position in circumferential direction of the service area based on the angular position and on the circumferential dimension of the radially inner surface of the tyre.
Methods for treating inner liners, inner liners resulting therefrom and tires containing such inner liners
Methods for treating a cured inner liner as well as treated, cured inner liners resulting from such methods are disclosed. Also disclosed are tires containing the treated inner liners. The methods include treatment of the lower surface of inner liner surface with a rubber-containing liquid to produce a rubber-containing film thereupon.
Pneumatic tire and method of manufacturing the same
A pneumatic tire that is vulcanized using a bladder provided with a coating layer comprising a release agent, the noise absorber being fixed to the inner surface of the tread portion along the tire circumferential direction via the adhesive layer, and the amount of silicon in the release agent detected by X-ray fluorescence analysis is 0.1 wt. % to 10.0 wt. % at least in the fixation region for the noise absorber.
ASSEMBLY COMPRISING AN ADAPTABLE SUPPORT STRUCTURE
The invention relates to an assembly for a tyre comprising a first fabric, a second fabric and a load-bearing structure comprising filamentary load-bearing elements made of heat-shrinkable textile material connecting the first fabric to the second fabric, the load-bearing filamentary elements exhibit a thermal contraction CT, measured after 2 min at 185° C., greater than or equal to 5%.
Magnetic tire sealant for puncture detection
Tires having a magnetic tire sealing material containing magnetic particles are described for detecting the presence of one or more sealed punctures in the tire. The tires can have a sealed tire portion that is formed by the magnetic tire sealing material flowing into and filling a puncture in the tire. The sealed tire portion includes a portion having magnetic particles and the portion being at the outer surface of the tire such as in the tread area. The tire can be positioned within the detection zone of an apparatus capable of detecting magnetic particles to indicate whether the tire contains a sealed puncture filled with the magnetic tire sealing material.
Pneumatic tire with noise damper
A pneumatic tire is provided with a noise damper made of a sponge material attached to a radially inner surface of the tread portion. The noise damper has protruding portions protruding from a radially inner surface of a band-shaped base portion. The protruding portions extend from one edge to the other edge of the base portion in the widthwise direction, and arranged at intervals in the tire circumferential direction. In a cross section of the tire parallel with the tire equatorial plane, the radially inner surface of each of the protruding portions includes a flat portion, and the radially inner surface of the base portion includes an arc portion parallel with the inner surface of the tread portion.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN AIRTIGHT LAYER USED IN THE COMPOSITION OF A TIRE
A method for manufacturing a composite airtight layer (20) used in the composition of a tire (30) comprises: a film (21) made of thermoplastic material is heated such that the film is able to plastically deform; the film is deformed (120) with the aid of corrugating means, the thickness of the film (21) being in a range from 0.01 to 0.2 mm, and the film having corrugations with a pitch and amplitude chosen in a range from 0.1 to 10 mm so as to give the film a given elongation capacity; the film is cooled such that the corrugated film is no longer able to be plastically deformed; and the corrugated film is coated in a matrix (22) of elastomer material, so as to form a composite airtight layer (20).
