FLUID-CONTAINER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING CRYSTALLINITY IN BLOW-MOLDED CONTAINER
A fluid container having a proximal end having an end wall, a distal end having an open-ended neck, and a sidewall extending between the proximal end and the distal end along a longitudinal axis is described. A localized crystallinity of a polymeric material of the fluid container of at least a first region of the fluid container is greater than a crystallinity of a polymeric material of the fluid container of at least a second region. Examples of fluid containers include medical fluid containers, such as medical bottles and syringes, including rolling diaphragm-type syringes, and commercial beverage containers Articles of manufacturer formed form a polymeric material and having regions with increased localized polymeric crystallinity are also described.
VEHICLE INTERIOR COMPONENT WITH POLYMER COMPOSITION
A component for a vehicle interior is disclosed. The component may be formed from a composition comprising polyketone resin in a range of less than about 40 percent by weight, compatible resin, copolymer, compatibilizer and reinforcing material. An effect on a surface of the component is provided by the composition as a result of crystallinity and half-time of crystallization. The composition may provide crystallinity above about 15 percent and half-time crystallization above about 42 seconds. The component may provide crystallinity in a range of between about 17 to 26 percent. The effect provided by crystallinity and crystallization rate of the composition may comprise a substantially consistent visual effect at the surface of the component. The composition may comprise a polyketone composite material. A method of forming the component providing the crystallinity for the visual surface effect from the composition in a tool as a molded part is also disclosed.
Synthetic resin-made container, preform, and method of manufacturing synthetic resin-made container
A synthetic resin-made container has an outer layer body and an inner layer body separably laminated on an inner surface of the outer layer body and is formed by stretch blow molding, and has: a tubular mouth portion; a shoulder portion located below the mouth portion and increasing in diameter downward; a barrel portion connected to and located below the shoulder portion; and a bottom portion closing a lower end of the barrel portion, wherein the mouth portion has an outside air introduction hole for introducing outside air into a space between the outer layer body and the inner layer body, and the inner layer body is made of a crystalline resin, and has, in at least a part of the mouth portion in the inner layer body, a crystallized region having a higher degree of crystallinity than other regions.
Injection Molded Preform and Manufacture Thereof
An injection molded thermoplastic preform for blow moulding to form a container, the preform base of a central part having a first, downwardly and radially inwardly tapering portion therebetween which increases in thickness from a radially outer end of the first tapering portion adjacent to the hollow transition portion to a radially inner end of the first tapering portion adjacent to the gate part and the middle part opposite the gate part can allow the injected resin to be urged back through the gate at the end of the injection moulding cycle at a lower fluid pressure in the vicinity of the gate which is associated with high resin temperatures. The technical effect achieved by the first tapering portion is that crystallinity in the gate area is minimized or eliminated, which avoids or minimizes partial blocking of the gate which would otherwise restrict the injected resin from being urged back through the gate at the end of the injection moulding cycle.
Preforms and method for producing preforms
The invention relates to a preform for producing a plastic container in a 2-stage stretch blow molding method, said preform having a preform body that extends along a central axis and that comprises: a first end a second end that lies opposite the first end, wherein the first end is closed and a neck part with a pouring opening adjoins the second end; and an inner wall that delimits an interior of the preform. Along a length of at least 30 mm of the interior, every point of the inner wall is at a distance of less than 3.5 mm from the central axis. Also disclosed are a suitable method and a device for producing such a preform.
Stretch blow molding process
A stretch blow molding process for producing a plastic container from a preform, having an elongated, tubular preform body, extending along a center axis. The first end of the preform body is closed by a preform bottom and the second end is adjoined by a neck part with a pouring opening. A wall, bounds an interior space of the preform. The preform body is heated and introduced into a cavity of a blow mold. A stretching mandrel enters the preform until the stretching mandrel tip reaches the preform bottom. The preform body and the preform bottom are stretched by the stretching mandrel. The preform body and the preform bottom are deformed by introducing a fluid into the preform under pressure. The stretching mandrel makes contact with the inner side of the wall in the region of the preform body.
