ORTHOPEDIC INSOLE
An orthopedic insole may include at least one strength layer and at least one shock absorbing layer. In one embodiment, the strength layer may be relatively rigid and includes a heel portion and an arch portion, contoured to fit the plantar or bottom surface of the foot to provide arch support. The shock absorbing layer may include a plurality of shock absorbing cells such as recoverable honeycombs or any other negative stiffness structure with the capability to recover. A gait analysis that may include an individual's weight transfer trajectory may have to be conducted to determine the structure of the shock absorbing layer. The orthopedic insole may further include an adjusting layer to supplement the strength layer and the shock absorbing layer to make adjustment to the orthopedic insole if needed.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A HOUSING OF AN AIR CONDITIONER
A method for producing a housing of an air conditioner, in which at least a part of the housing is produced as a plastic part by means of an injection molding process by injecting a plastic into a mold cavity of an injection molding tool, wherein a damping element is placed in the injection mold prior to injection of the plastic into the injection mold so that the damping element establishes a bond with the plastic during injection of the plastic into the injection mold and becomes a component of the injection-molded plastic part.
Fuel cell separator and method of manufacturing the same
A fuel cell separator includes a separator main body having a first surface and a second surface, and a first seal member disposed on the first surface. When a region on the first surface of the separator main body corresponding to an electrode member disposed on the second surface is defined as a power generation region, and a region on the first surface of the separator main body corresponding to an in-cell seal member is defined as a seal region, a displacement/vibration reducing member made of polymer is disposed at a part of the seal region. The displacement/vibration reducing member includes multiple protrusions and a coupling portion. When viewed in plan view, an axis line connecting the centers of the figures of the adjacent protrusions does not coincide with a center line passing through the widthwise center of the coupling portion. The coupling portion has a gate cut mark.
GENERATING 3D OBJECTS
An apparatus (100) for generating three dimensional objects comprises a first scanning carriage (102). The first scanning carriage comprises a first energy source (104) to pre-heat an area of a build surface as the first scanning carriage (102) moves over the build surface.
Cost-effective and eco-friendly composite product with robust impact strength
A composite product substantially reduced the impact force imposed by hard impactor which travelled at the speed in the range of 400 m/s to 1400 m/s simultaneously damping the vibrations and shocks appeared therein is disclosed. At the same time it is light weight with the weight lower than that of 22 to 38 kg/m2and is flexible to adopt the shape suitable for the end applications. A method of manufacturing the composite product of the invention is also disclosed.
FOAM INSULATION WITH THERMOFORMABLE FILM COATING AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURE
A thermal/acoustic insulation product, such as for an aircraft, comprising a block of flexible, open-celled, cellular foam having a predefined shape and having a thermoformed amorphous film covering that completely envelops the foam block. A process for making the insulation product includes first cutting the block of foam to a predefined shape, such as a shape suitable for placement in an area of an aircraft in need of insulation. Then, a first sheet of film is heated to its melt point and conformed to a first surface area of the block, and a second sheet of film is heated to its melt point and conformed to a second surface area of the block, wherein the first film and the second film are joined to one another at one or more seams. The insulation product may then be installed in an aircraft.
POLYAMIDE RESIN COMPOSITION FOR DAMPING MATERIAL
A polyamide resin composition for a vibration-damping material, containing a polyamide resin, a plasticizer in an amount of from 7 to 35 parts by mass, and one or more members selected from the group consisting of plate-like fillers and acicular fillers in an amount of from 15 to 80 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of the polyamide resin. The polyamide resin composition of the present invention can be suitably used as a vibration-damping material for a material for audio equipment such as, for example, speakers, television, radio cassette players, headphones, audio components, or microphones, and manufactured articles such as electric appliances, transportation vehicles, construction buildings, and industrial equipment, or parts or housing thereof.
Compressible sealing element and use thereof for filling the gap between a stock rail and a switch rail in a railway switch
The compressible sealing element (1) comprises at least one piece made of a resilient foam (17). This foam has an open-cell content of at least 50% and has such a hardness that it requires a force of less than 2000 N to compress the sealing element (1) per meter length thereof to such an extent that the volume of a rectangular cuboid circumscribing the sealing element is reduced by 40%. The sealing element comprises a water-impermeable cover layer (18) which extends at least over its top surface. The sealing element is intended for filling at least partially the gaps between the stock rails (13) and the switch rails (12) in a railway switch to prevent the switch from being blocked in particular by snow. Advantages of the new sealing element is that it can easier be inserted in these gaps and that it has a smaller effect on the force required to close the switch so that it can also be applied closer to the free extremity of the switch rail (12).
Reduced Weight Equine Orthotic Pad and Method
An improved shock absorbing, light-weight, thermally insulative orthotic pad designed for use in a “pad and boot” assembly for hoofed livestock. The pad is comprised of a mixture of small particles incorporated and encased in elastomeric materials. The particles have a lower density than the elastomeric materials and possess better thermally insulative properties. The pad is preferably elliptically shaped when viewed from the top or bottom, may be wedge-shaped when viewed from the side, and may include a triangular projection designed to contact a horse's frog and/or a front projection designed to cushion an animal's toe. The pad may also have side clips and toe bumper.
POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION FOR DAMPING MATERIAL
A polyester resin composition for a vibration-damping material, containing a thermoplastic polyester resin constituted of a dicarboxylic acid component and a diol component (A), one or more members selected from the group consisting of plasticizers and styrene-isoprene block copolymers (B), and an inorganic filler (C). The polyester resin composition of the present invention can be suitably used as a vibration-damping material for a material for audio equipment such as, for example, speakers, television, radio cassette players, headphones, audio components, or microphones, and manufactured articles such as electric appliances, transportation vehicles, construction buildings, and industrial equipment, or parts or housing thereof.
