HEAD REST
A headrest (400) is provided for a vehicle. The head rest (400) includes a front part (200) and a back part (100) with integrated lateral parts (104). The front part (200) and the back part (100) with integrated lateral parts (104) are formed in a complementary manner such that when they are assembled together, a closed space is formed in which a U-shaped curved support rod (300) can be inserted.
INTEGRAL SKIN FOAM MOLDED ARTICLE
An integral skin foam molded article includes: a skin formed by sewing a plurality of skin pieces in a hag shape; and a resin foam which is molded inside the skin integrally with the skin, wherein: at least one skin piece among the plurality of skin pieces has a surface material made of a natural leather, and includes a wadding material stacked on a back side of the surface material in a non-surface joined state and a lining material stacked on the wadding material; and in a shrinkage rate with respect to an in-plane compression load, a shrinkage rate of the liming material is smaller than a shrinkage rate of the wadding material.
Skin foam-in-place foamed article and production method thereof
There is provided a skin foam-in-place foamed article comprising a pad (15) and a bag-like outer material (20) covering the pad (15). The outer material (20) has a top layer (21) and a liner layer (22) made of a foamed resin. The liner layer (22) has a closed cell structure. A pad-side skin layer (27a) having a density higher than that of a bulk layer (26) is provided on the liner layer (22), on a side of the pad (15). A corona treatment is applied to the pad-side skin layer (27a).
Foaming die device adapted to effect foaming in trim cover assembly integrally to form headrest, and foaming process for forming headrest by effecting foaming in trim cover assembly integrally, using the foaming die device
A foaming die device for forming a headrest is provided, which comprises a lower die having a first protrusion and an upper die having a second protrusion. The lower and upper dies are used for accommodating a trim cover assembly with a headrest stay portion extending outwardly through a stay passage hole formed in the trim cover assembly. The first and second protrusions are adapted to press and turn over a projected area created about the stay hole into the inside of that trim cover assembly. Also, a foaming process for forming the headrest, using this foaming die device, is provided, in which the projected area is turned over by the first and second protrusions into the trim cover assembly when placing the trim cover assembly in the dies. Hence, conventional preliminary steps using cylindrical stick to turn over the projected area into the trim cover assembly are eliminated.
Lightweight acoustic enclosures
The technology described in this document can be embodied in an acoustic enclosure for a speaker system disposed in a portion of a vehicle seat. The acoustic enclosure includes a rigid plate configured to be attached to a frame, a first section, and a second section. The rigid plate configured to support a speaker disposed in part within the acoustic enclosure. The first section is constructed from expanded resin, and disposed in contact with the rigid plate. The second section is disposed in contact with the first section, between the second section and the rigid plate. The first and second section together define a housing of the acoustic enclosure that includes at least one cavity configured to accommodate a portion of the speaker.
FOAM BODY AND APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MAKING THE BODY
An apparatus for making a foam material body has a mold comprising at least two mold halves fittable together to form separate first and second mold cavities; a first sprue opening into the first mold cavity, and a second sprue opening into the second mold cavity. The mold parts can be moved between an open and a closed position. Foam can be injected into the first and second mold cavities through the respective sprues. A passage, for example, connects the sprue with the mold cavity. The first mold cavity and the second mold cavity are partitioned from one another in the closed position of the mold.
Headrests
A vehicle headrest includes an electro-acoustic transducer and an acoustic enclosure that supports the electro-acoustic transducer. A unitary foam member is coupled to the acoustic enclosure. The foam member has regions of contrasting firmness including a first region having a first firmness and a second region having a second firmness that is greater than the first firmness. The second region defines a speaker grille that is configured to overlie the electro-acoustic transducer.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A MOLDING TOOL FOR PRODUCING AN EQUIPMENT PART AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN EQUIPMENT PART AND EQUIPMENT PART
A method for producing a head support, including the steps of providing a mold having at least two mold parts and a cavity, wherein the mold includes at least regions of the inner surface of the cavity which are configured to produce an outer surface of an equipment part and have a structure which is in the form of a negative structure, which is to be produced, of a structure of the outer surface of the equipment part, coating the inner surface of the cavity with a first complex of material, drying the first complex, introducing a second material into a mold part of the open mold and then closing the mold, opening the mold after the second complex has cured.
AUTOMOTIVE TRIM DEVICE
The present invention relates to an automotive trim device and a process for making the same. The automotive trim device comprises a foam body with a cavity, into which a mechanism comprising both functionality-conferring elements and a frame element can be inserted. The foam body is manufactured from liquid foam and uses tooling for the inner core. After the foam body has formed, the tooling is removed and the mechanism can be inserted into the foam body, thereby preventing the mechanism from being exposed to liquid foam. An advantage of the present invention is that the automotive trim device can be used with electrical and/or mechanical devices containing components sensitive to the intrusion and curing of liquid foamable materials. The process may also provide mass and cost savings due to reductions in scrap and material, as compared to other known methods of manufacture.
SLEEVE FOR HEADREST
A sleeve device for a headrest, the device including a sleeve body for insertion into a vehicle seat, the sleeve body including a tubular wall describing an inner axial passage and a rod-engaging portion which is deformable inwardly relative to the tubular wall, the rod-engaging portion including a flexible pad on its external side, wherein the pad is configured to be urged, in use, to force the engaging portion into the axial passage and/or against a rod received within the axial passage.
