Thermoplastic compositions, methods, apparatus, and uses
Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) compositions, methods for producing TPU compositions, methods of using TPU compositions, and apparatuses produced therefrom are disclosed. Disclosed TPU compositions include a thermoplastic polyurethane polymer, a heat stabilizer, a flow agent, and a filler material. The filler may be a glass fiber. Disclosed TPU compositions have improved thermal stability and improved flow properties suitable for injection molding of articles of manufacture having a large plurality of fine openings or pores. Articles produced from the composition have superior thermal stability, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance. Example articles include screening members for vibratory screening machines. Further embodiments include compositions without heat stabilizers, flow agents, and filler materials, and compositions in which two TPU materials having different harnesses are combined to generate a material with a pre-determined hardness. Injection molded screen elements having openings from 25 to 150 microns and open screening area from 10% to 35% are disclosed.
System for joining resin and metal
A joining method for joining a resin member and a metal member by heating is provided. Joining of the resin member and metal member is performed by heating a joining interface of the resin member and metal member to a temperature in a range of equal to or higher than a decomposition temperature of the resin member and lower than a temperature at which gas bubbles are generated in the resin member and by cooling a surface of the resin member on the opposite side from a joining surface thereof with the metal member to a temperature that is lower than the melting point of the resin member.

VENTILATION FLAP ARRANGEMENT, METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF AND EMBOSSING DIE USED IN THIS METHOD
A ventilation flap arrangement, in particular for venting a motor vehicle interior, comprises one or a plurality of flexible cover flaps and a frame for holding the cover flaps, the frame having a receiving groove for a cover flap, the receiving groove being formed by two side cheeks, and the cover flap being non-detachably connected, at its longitudinal edge, with the receiving groove of the frame by embossing. This embossed connection acts upon the cover flap in a clamping manner in a longitudinal-edge clamping area thereof. In each case one or a plurality of openings are provided close to the longitudinal edge at least on one side of the longitudinal-edge clamping area of the cover flap, with the side cheek projecting therein with in each case one embossed projection without applying a clamping force.
Fabrication method for making a trim element by welding of a structural element and a functional element
An assembly method for assembling a structural element and a functional element constituted of a first functional element part and a second functional element part. The method includes the steps of (a) bringing into contact the first functional element part, the second functional element part and the structural element in at least one assembly zone, with the first functional element part being in contact with the second functional element part, and the first functional element part and the second functional element part being respectively in contact with the structural element in the assembly zone, and (b) welding of the first and the second functional element parts on to the structural element in the assembly zone in a single welding pass in a manner so as to simultaneously attach the first and the second functional element parts to the structural element.

A filter unit connecting a gate connection part to an outer cylinder includes a plurality of longitudinal ribs formed at regular intervals orthogonally to an X axis and parallel to a Y axis when a virtual plane orthogonal to a central axis of the gate connection part is assumed to be an X-Y plane. A plurality of transverse ribs is formed at regular intervals orthogonally to the longitudinal ribs and parallel to the X axis, and a plurality of rectangular openings is formed between the longitudinal ribs and the transverse ribs. By injecting molten resin into a cavity from a gate opened toward a cavity portion forming the gate connection part, the gate connection part, the outer cylinder, and the filter unit are formed integrally, the rib widths of the longitudinal ribs and the transverse ribs are made constant, and the shapes of the plurality of openings are made identical.
