FOAM BEAD, MOLDED ARTICLE FORMED OF A PLURALITY OF FOAM BEADS, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING FOAM BEADS
A foam bead intended in particular for the production of molded parts is also intended to be particularly suitable for novel, hitherto unknown applications, especially after processing into a corresponding molded part. For this purpose, the foam bead comprises, according to the invention, a core formed by a first plastic and a shell formed by a second plastic and at least partially surrounding the core, the second plastic forming the shell having a lower melting point than the first plastic forming the core.
Pressure Forming Machine
A pressure forming machine is provided. In one embodiment, the pressure forming machine integrates a heater in its pressure chamber, so the heater and pressure chamber are movable together with respect to a base of the pressure forming machine. The pressure chamber and base can contain locking mechanisms to create a seal between the pressure chamber and a plastic sheet used for forming. The base can also contain a separable air compressor component, so the air compressor can be physically distanced to reduce the noise experienced by a user. Other embodiments are provided.

Acceleration of Reconstitution of Plasma Powder by Mixing with Small Beads
Methods of accelerating the reconstitution of plasma powder by mixing the powder with small beads is disclosed. The beads can be, for example, glass and/or plastic resin beads having a diameter from about 2 mm to about 6 mm. The plasma powder can be, for example, a spray-dried plasma powder. A method is provided of accelerating the reconstitution of a dry protein powder in a fluid that includes, but is not limited to, the steps of providing both a dry protein powder and small beads in a container, adding a reconstitution fluid to the container, and manipulating the dry protein powder and the small beads to dissolve the dry protein powder in the reconstitution fluid.
Combination of silica and graphite and its use for decreasing the thermal conductivity of vinyl aromatic polymer foam
The invention relates to the co-use of a) a certain type of silica and b) a certain type of graphite, wherein the silica and the graphite are used in a weight ratio in a range of from 1:1 to 1:10, for decreasing the thermal conductivity of vinyl aromatic polymer foam.
ADDITIVE PRINTING METHOD
A manufacturing method which manufactures articles which have hollow areas inside them which are subject to their own internal vacuum. A 3-D printer can be located inside a vacuum chamber and the article(s) can be 3-D printed, thereby the hollow area inside each such article is subject to its own vacuum. When removed from the vacuum chamber, the article's hollow area remains subject to its own internal vacuum.
System and method for producing toy balls for pets
A method of producing toy balls for pets, including: manufacturing distorted sphere balls with an opening in the distorted area using injection molding; sealing the opening of the distorted sphere balls to form uni-body sphere-shaped balls. The material used in the production of these toys can be rubber, thermoplastic elastomers, or thermoplastic rubber. This method allows to manufacture toy balls with no detached parts in the case of broken joints when the balls are chewed or torn apart by the pets. Thus, the ball can help to keep the pets from endangering themselves by swallowing detached parts of pet toy balls.
Preserving In-Plane Function of Polarization Laminates in a Forming Process
Optical films that are thermo-formed to create a curved surface while maintaining a fixed magnitude and orientation of the local in-plane birefringence. While perhaps not practical to maintain the magnitude of the differences in index of refraction between three orthogonal axes in a material undergoing an arbitrary deformation, it is possible to maintain the difference between two of the indices under certain conditions. This enables the incorporation of functional retarder layers into curved structures such as lenses and reflective polarizer films. Furthermore, it enables the minimization of retardation induced in the surrounding initially isotropic substrates.
Fracking tools and methods of forming the same
A method of forming a fracking tool, such as a frac ball or a frac plug mandrel, may include: applying a resin to wet a filament; winding the wetted filament to form a cylinder; placing the cylinder in a cylindrical mold; increasing a pressure in the cylindrical mold to at least 3,000 psi; curing the resin at the pressure and a temperature of at least 250° F.; and extracting the cylinder from the mold. In some instances, the method may further include adding the resin and/or another resin into the cylindrical mold.
