An apparatus for coating a part that has an asymmetrical edge. The apparatus includes a film dispenser, a film retriever, a mandrel; and a part holder. Preferably one or both of the mandrel and the part holder move in an angular relationship to one another, and the film dispenser and the film retriever move co-operatively in at least two dimensions with respect to the part holder. There is further provided a film having a first edge and a second edge, and the film can be a decorative coating, a protective coating or combinations of these. The film dispenser holds the first edge of the film, the film is positioned between the mandrel and the part holder and the film retriever holds the film second edge.

A tube marking device includes a delivery unit having operating rollers for delivering a tube. A thermal press printing unit includes a first heating device and a press printing roller which are actuated by a first lift cylinder to move vertically. A first transmission printing sheet is mounted to a first rotary disc, carries a plurality of marks thereon, and is moved by an operating unit. Two adjacent marks are continuous to each other or have a spacing therebetween smaller than 50 cm. A control unit is electrically connected to the delivery unit, the thermal press printing unit, the first rotary disc, and the operating unit. The delivery unit and the operating unit respectively move the tube and the first transmission printing sheet. The thermal press printing unit transmissions the plurality of marks of the first transmission printing sheet onto an outer periphery of the tube.

A hot foil stamping press (10) comprises a platen press (16), with a supporting plate (22) comprising a base plate (26) and a compensating plate (28) being rotatably attached to the base plate (26) for switching between an operating position and a makeready position and a hook element (38) comprising a base part and a top part being arranged at an angle relative to the base part. The hook element (38) is rotatably attached to a door (30) of the platen press (16) by a fixation axle for switching between a releasing position and a securing position of the hook element, wherein the top part retains the compensating plate (28) in its makeready position when the hook element (38) is in its securing position.

Systems and methods in which dot-like portions of a material (e.g., a viscous material such as a solder paste) are printed or otherwise transferred onto an intermediate substrate at a first printing unit, the intermediate substrate having the dot-like portions of material printed thereon is transferred to a second printing unit, and the dot-like portions of material are transferred from the intermediate substrate to a final substrate at the second printing unit. Optionally, the first printing unit includes a coating system that creates a uniform layer of the material on a donor substrate, and the material is transferred in the individual dot-like portions from the donor substrate onto the intermediate substrate at the first printing unit. Each of the first and second printing units may employ a variety of printing or other transfer technologies. The system may also include material curing and imaging units to aid in the overall process.

A hot foil stamping press (10) comprises a platen press (16), with a supporting plate (22) comprising a base plate (26) and a compensating plate (28) being rotatably attached to the base plate (26) for switching between an operating position and a makeready position and a hook element (38) comprising a base part and a top part being arranged at an angle relative to the base part. The hook element (38) is rotatably attached to a door (30) of the platen press (16) by a fixation axle for switching between a releasing position and a securing position of the hook element, wherein the top part retains the compensating plate (28) in its makeready position when the hook element (38) is in its securing position.

A cartridge is attachable to and detachable from a housing main body of a foil transfer device that disposes a multilayer film including a plurality of layers on a sheet and transfers at least one layer of the multilayer film onto the sheet. The cartridge includes a feed reel around which the multilayer film is rolled and that is configured to rotate about a first axis extending in an axial direction of the feed reel, a reel gear that is located at an end portion of the feed reel in the axial direction and that is configured to rotate together with the feed reel, an output gear that transmits a rotational force applied to the feed reel to outside of the cartridge, and an intermediate gear that reduces rotation speed of the reel gear and transmits the rotation of the reel gear to the output gear.

A holographic foil supplying device for a hot foil stamping machine has a reel (26) for holographic foil (20), an advancement system (24) for advancing the holographic foil (20) along a movement path (P) in a feeding direction (F) and a frame (22) supporting the reel (26) and the advancement system (24), wherein the frame (22) comprises a mount (30) for mounting the holographic foil supplying device (18) to the hot foil stamping machine. A method of printing comprises providing a component source wafer comprising components, a transfer device, and a patterned substrate. The patterned substrate comprises substrate posts that extend from a surface of the patterned substrate. Components are picked up from the component source wafer by adhering the components to the transfer device. One or more of the picked-up components are printed to the patterned substrate by disposing each of the one or more picked-up components onto one of the substrate posts, thereby providing one or more printed components in a printed structure.

A foil transfer film cartridge includes a supply reel on which a foil film including a transfer layer containing foil is wound, a take-up reel on which to take up the foil film, a first connecting portion extending in a direction perpendicular to a first axial direction along a rotation axis of the supply reel and connecting the supply reel and the take-up reel at a position apart from the foil film, and a film guide member extending in a second axial direction along a rotation axis of the take-up reel the film guide member being capable of assuming an out-of-contact state and an in-contact state with the foil film extended between the supply reel and the take-up reel.
