An ejection apparatus includes an ejection head having an ejection port, a droplet detection unit, an acquisition unit, a control unit, and a decision unit. The droplet detection unit detects that a droplet ejected from the ejection port has reached a predetermined position. The acquisition unit acquires information regarding a velocity of movement of the detected droplet. The control unit controls the ejection head to eject the droplet from the ejection port. The decision unit decides a number of consecutive ejections of a plurality of droplets from the ejection head based on the acquired information regarding the velocities of each of the plurality of droplets ejected consecutively and detected by the droplet detection unit. If the acquisition unit acquires the information regarding velocities of detected droplets, the control unit controls the ejection head to consecutively eject the droplets from the ejection head based on the decided number of consecutive ejections.

DROP VELOCITY ABERRANCY DETECTION

Examples associated with drop velocity aberrancy detection are disclosed. One example includes firing ink through nozzles of a print-head past sensors to identify drop velocities of the nozzles. A target drop velocity is selected based on the drop velocities of the nozzles. An aberrant nozzles is detected when a nozzle has a drop velocity that deviates from the target drop velocity by a selected threshold. The aberrant nozzle is deactivated, and a good nozzle that will travel over locations traversed by the aberrant nozzle is configured to print portions of a job that would have been printed by the aberrant nozzle.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RAPID MONITORING OF INKJET INK DROPLETS USING TIME DELAY INTEGRATION

An apparatus and a method for rapid monitoring of inkjet ink droplets using time delay integration are proposed. Inkjet ink droplets used in manufacturing a display panel may be captured for a set period of time using a wide one-dimensional (1D) line scan camera to obtain a plurality of pieces of high-resolution small-amount image data. The obtained plurality of pieces of high-resolution small-amount image data may be subjected to image processing to generate ink droplet two-dimensional (2D) time-space information. The ink droplet two-dimensional (2D) time-space information may be compared with pre-stored reference ink droplet 2D time-space information to determine whether the ink droplets are normal.

Liquid discharge apparatus

There is provided a liquid discharge apparatus including: a liquid discharge head; a relative movement mechanism performing relative movement between the liquid discharge head and a medium; a velocity signal output circuit; and a controller performing a constant velocity discharge operation and an acceleration/deceleration discharge operation. In the constant velocity discharge operation, the controller determines a discharge timing based on information about a representative value of relative velocity obtained based on a plurality of pieces of preceding velocity information. Further, in the acceleration/deceleration discharge operation, the controller obtains approximate information in which a change in the relative velocity is approximated based on distribution of the relative velocity, and the controller determines a discharge timing based on the approximate information.
