The positioning includes: starting rotating the rotary body in one direction on the basis of the first signal at the time of starting the positioning; halting the rotation in the one direction of the rotary body on the basis of the second signal; and rotating the rotary body in the opposite direction for a prescribed time period after the halting is completed.

The tape includes: a plurality of labels arranged continuously in the longitudinal direction; and a plurality of storage elements provided on respective ones of the plurality of labels. A first storage element is provided on a first label and configured to store first authentication data. The second storage element is provided on a second label and configured to store second authentication data. A printing portion is configured to print on the plurality of labels. A controller is configured to perform: reading the first authentication data from the first storage element and the second authentication data from the second storage element by a reading portion; and determining whether the first authentication data is correlated to the second authentication data to meet an authentication condition.

The platen roller is configured to move the sheet pinched between the platen roller and the print head along a longitudinal direction of the sheet. The sheet position sensor is provided on a substrate disposed on an upstream side of the print head in a conveyance direction of the sheet, and is configured to detect a position of the sheet. The antenna is provided on the substrate and is configured to write information to a wireless tag provided on the sheet. The movable portion is configured to move the substrate along a width direction of the sheet.

Tape cassette

A tape cassette includes a box-like housing, a tape mounted within the housing, a hole and a first indicator portion. The housing includes a top wall having a top surface, a bottom wall having a bottom surface and opposing the top wall, and a front wall having a specified height and being formed along peripheries of the top wall and the bottom wall. The hole is provided in the front wall. The first indicator portion includes at least one first aperture and indicates a first element among a plurality of elements of a type of the tape. The first indicator portion is provided in a portion, spaced from the front wall, of the bottom wall. The hole and the one first aperture is located to intersect a virtual line orthogonal to the front wall when viewing along a vertical direction orthogonal to the top wall and the bottom wall.

The casing includes a battery compartment, to which a battery is attachable, and a terminal arranged inside the battery compartment. The printer is powered by the battery to print an image on a printable tape. The battery cover is attachable to the casing and, when at an attached position, covers at least a part of the battery compartment. The casing includes a guide arranged outside the battery compartment to guide the battery cover toward the attached position in the casing. The battery cover includes a first wall portion, which contacts the guide at an outer face thereof and slides along the guide as the battery cover moves toward the attached position, and a pressing portion to press the battery in the battery compartment against the terminal as the first wall portion slides along the guide.
