Using indexing targets to index textual and/or graphical visual content manually created in a book
A book made up of pages is described. At least some of the pages contain both space for manually-created visual content, and instances of preprinted indexing target symbols. Each of the indexing target symbol instances has at least a portion within one inch of three unbound page edges. When the book is closed, the instances of each particular indexing target symbol are in a substantially collinear stack that is substantially perpendicular to the faces of the pages.
INTERACTIVE MEDIA
Disclosed herein are devices and methods for an interactive book configured to enhance a user's vocabulary. In some embodiments, an interactive paper-based book comprises a back cover comprising a plurality of touch sensors and an audio module and a plurality of paper pages that are stacked together on top of each other. In some embodiments, each of the pages comprises a grid array of images associated with a plurality of words. In some embodiments, the grid array of images on the plurality of pages are aligned with the plurality of touch sensors on the back cover. In some embodiments, each of the pages and a set of audio files for each page are configured to be activated using a page button corresponding to the respective page. In some embodiments, the page buttons are located on one or more portions of the book. In some embodiments, the audio module is configured to play one or more sounds associated with an image on an activated page when the user touches the image on the activated page.
DATED OR UNDATED DIARY AND METHOD OF CONNECTING TO A DEDICATED WEB PAGE
A bound dated diary or a bound undated diary adapted to take notes is provided, which includes a passive RFID component, fixed directly or indirectly to the cover, which is configured to be interrogated by a NFC reading device, communicating to it a unique code that uniquely identifies the passive RFID component. A method of manufacturing a paper support with the passive RFID component hidden from view is also disclosed. The paper support can interact with a smartphone, or more generally with any device that can surf the net equipped with a NFC reading device, through a dedicated computer program that allows to implement a method of connecting to a web page uniquely associated with the paper support.
Two-sided hinged repositionable note
A two-sided hinged note comprises a generally planar sheet, an adhesive, and a hinge. The sheet has opposing front and back sides, both of which are suitable to be written upon at least in part. The adhesive, which may be pressure-sensitive and re-adherable, is on an adhesive area of the back side of the note and is capable of adhering to a surface of an item such that the sheet is flat against the surface thereby presenting the front side of the sheet facing outward from the surface. The hinge is proximate the adhesive area, wherein the hinge is operable to pivot approximately 180° to thereby present the back side of the sheet facing outward from the surface as a the sheet is approximately flat against the surface of the item.
Reusable notebook
A reusable notebook is used with heat-erasable ink. The reusable notebook includes a binding configured to hold a plurality of pages, at least one cover, and at least one ready indicator. The ready indicator is configured to indicate that at least one page in the notebook has reached at least a critical temperature. The critical temperature is a predetermined minimum temperature that is sufficient to erase thermochromic ink on the page(s). The indication occurs when the ready indicator is at a temperature equal to or above a predetermined minimum temperature referred to as the ready temperature. When the ready indicator is at or above the ready temperature, the critical temperature of the at least one page is reached.
Notebook with configurable note-taking guides and organizational features
A notebook is provided comprising a number of expert guidance pages and instructional figures. The notebook includes integrated guidance and information sheets that describe using different note-taking methods. The notebook may include supplemental pages that teach and reinforce note-taking methods and approaches, as well as a variety of other pages designed to provide a functional notebook. One or more of the pages, including the supplemental pages, can be removed by tearing along a perforated edge.
PROJECT PROPOSAL BOOKLET
A project proposal booklet, including an index sheet having a proposal index thereon, the proposal index having a matrix of services, the matrix of services including at least one broad category of services, at least one specific service associated with a respective broad category of services, at least one specific service code and at least one price index, each of which are associated with a respective at least one specific service, at least one proposal sheet corresponding to one of the at least one specific service and the at least one specific service code associated with the one of the at least one specific service, the at least one proposal sheet includes a problem section, a solution section, and a unit of measure, the unit measure section further corresponding to the specific price index associated with the one of the at least one specific service.
UPSIDE DOWN BOOK
A children's book includes pages having text in a first orientation and pages in a second orientation, the first and second orientation related by being upside down relative to each other. As a child reads the book from a first end, the child encounters up a page with writing in both orientations, instructing him to turn the book upside down, close, and re-open the book. As the child re-opens the book that was turned upside down, the story continues from the opposite end of the book.
Comic Protector
The invention is directed toward a protective sleeve for a comic book comprising a substantially rectangular pocket comprising a front cover panel and a back cover panel, a substantially rectangular flap portion extending from the back cover panel comprising a first crease, an inner panel portion, a second crease, and an outer panel portion. The outer front panel portion has an adhesion area. The pocket has an adhesive strip disposed on the back cover panel. The front cover panel has an opening through which the cover of a comic book can be disposed. The front cover panel is folded over from the back cover panel. The flap portion may be wrapped around the pocket such that the inner front panel portion covers the front cover panel, the outer front panel portion covers the back cover panel, and the back cover panel is secured to the adhesive strip.
USING INDEXING TARGETS TO INDEX TEXTUAL AND/OR GRAPHICAL VISUAL CONTENT MANUALLY CREATED IN A BOOK
