Payment card with removable insert and identification elements

Aspects described herein may allow for a payment card assembly including a payment card having a first surface, an opposed second surface, and an aperture extending through the payment card from the first surface to the second surface. An insert may be removably received in the aperture. Each of a plurality of identification elements may be configured to be removably received in the aperture and have an identification characteristic different than an identification characteristic of each of the other identification elements.

Manufacturing a counterfeit resistant document as a randomized assembly of material constituents with a large variety of electrical conductivity attributes, thereby achieving a unique set of physically measured properties of the document, so that a document verifier will be convinced of the authenticity of the document by comparing the results of real time measurements with measurements pre-recorded in a public ledger.

A user device may cause light to be emitted at a security article by one or more light emission devices of the user device. The user device may obtain from a first set of one or more optical sensor devices of the user device first sensor data associated with the security article, and may obtain from a second set of one or more optical sensor devices of the user device second sensor data associated with the security article. The user device may determine, based on the first sensor data and the second sensor data, one or more characteristics of a security feature of the security article. The user device may determine, based on the one or more characteristics of the security feature, whether the security article is authentic. The user device may cause, based on determining whether the security article is authentic, one or more actions to be performed.

A security-enhanced document includes a substrate and variable indicia comprising ink having a signal. The variable indicia is of a specific type and is applied to the substrate using a specific application technique. At least one other printed portion, which is a back of the document, has background ink noise, and the type of ink of the back of the document is of the same type of ink applied to the substrate using the same application technique as the ink of the variable indicia. The document also includes a scratch-off-coating applied over the variable indicia. The document has a signal-to-noise ratio of the ink of the variable indicia relative to the background ink noise of the back of the document that is not appreciable, thereby making the variable indicia unreadable with reference to the back of the document when the scratch-off-coating remains intact.

Method for producing security elements, and security elements

A method for producing security elements, security elements, a security document with at least one security element as well as a transfer film with at least one security element, wherein a three-dimensional object is recorded and a surface profile of the three-dimensional object, described by a function F(x,y), is determined, wherein the function F(x,y) describes the distance between the surface profile and a two-dimensional reference surface spanned by co-ordinate axes x and y at the co-ordinate points x and y. A first microstructure is determined in such a way that the structure height of the first microstructure is limited to a predetermined value smaller than the maximum distance between the surface profile and the two-dimensional reference surface, and the first microstructure provides an observer with a first optical perception which corresponds to the surface profile of the three-dimensional object described by the function F(x,y).
