The demarker is then used to mark the last-read line on the last read page of a book by placing the demarker with the first and second indicia face-up on the opposite page of the last-read page. Further, for a single column books, the first indicia is aligned with the last-read line. For two-column books, the first indicia is aligned with the last-read line if the last-read line is in the first column. However, the second indicia is aligned with the last-read line if the last-read line is in the second column.
