WHEEL ASSEMBLY, LOCK-RING FOR WHEEL ASSEMBLY, HANDLE ENGAGEABLE WITH LOCK-RING, AND RELATED METHODS
A lock-ring system may include one or more lock-ring sections configured to at least partially define an annular lock-ring and one or more coupler plates configured to couple a first ring section end of a first lock-ring section to either a second ring section end of the first lock-ring section or to a ring section end of a second lock-ring section. The one or more coupler plates may be configured to be received in ring recesses of the one or more lock-ring sections. The one or more coupler plates may be coupled to the one or more ring section ends by fasteners and may be configured to slide relative to the ring recesses when the fasteners are loosened, so that a lock-ring formed by the one or more lock-ring sections may be mounted on, or removed from, a wheel assembly. A handle may be used to assist with maintaining separation of the lock-ring sections during handling and to assist with handling the lock-ring during removal and installation of the lock-ring on a wheel assembly.
Aircraft recovery dolly
A wheel dolly for lifting and transporting a flat tire attached to an aircraft is comprised of a frame assembly having first and second laterally spaced frame members and a telescopic frame structure interposed between the laterally spaced frame members. A pair of tire lifting assemblies are fixedly coupled the frame assembly. A pair of actuators is coupled between the tire lifting assemblies to force the tire lifting assemblies toward one another in order to raise a flat tire on an aircraft. A plurality of wheels is coupled to the frame assembly to allow the frame assembly to roll in any direction.
WHEEL COVER FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
The invention relates to a wheel cover (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising a first cover element (2), configured to be mounted to an axle assembly (3) of the motor vehicle, the first cover element (2) comprising a hole (2′) through which a hub (3) of the axle assembly (3) is accessible. The wheel cover (1) comprises a second cover element (4), which is detachably connected to the first cover element (2) and covers the hole (2′), when connected to the first cover element (2).
Wheel assembly for an agricultural implement and method of forming same
A wheel assembly for an agricultural implement and method of forming the agricultural wheel assembly includes a tire body, an annular ring, and a hub. The tire body has an inner wall and an outer wall collectively defining an annular pocket therebetween. The inner wall defines a central, axial hole through the tire body and has a circumferential slot extending therethrough. The annular ring is positioned within the circumferential slot and secured to the tire body such that the annular ring projects radially inward through the circumferential slot to the axial hole. As such, the annular ring is configured to operatively engage the hub such that the tire body mounts to the hub.
DEVICE FOR THE SHAFT-HUB COUPLING, IN PARTICULAR FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR
A device for the shaft-hub coupling, in particular for the automotive sector. The peculiarity of this device is that it comprises a box-like body (4) arranged to be inserted inside a shaft (2), to be coupled with a hub (3). The body (4) further has removable means (5, 5′, 5″), operable by means of a lock (6), for engagement with the hub (3).
VEHICLE TIRE BEAD RETENTION SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS
A wheel assembly includes a rim having a primary tire bead retention ridge; a plurality of secondary bead retention members; and a plurality of sealing members. The plurality of secondary bead retention members are removably coupleable to receptacles of the rim such that a portion of each secondary bead retention member extends into a pressurized portion of the wheel, is positioned behind a tire bead seat, and extends radially beyond the primary tire bead retention ridge.
THERMOCHROMIC WHEEL LUG NUT DEVICE
A wheel lug nut locking attachment, lug nut position locator device, or lug nut locking device is provided, wherein the attachment or devices include a thermochromic material which provides an indication of excess heat generation in the wheel assembly of a tractor trailer. A warning system to alert an operator of the present of excess heat in the wheel assembly is provided. In a preferred embodiment, the device also acts to lock a wheel lug nut to an adjacent wheel lug nut, so as to prevent or reduce rotation of the wheel lug nut. A plurality of thermochromic lug nut locking devices can be fitted to a single wheel so that all of the lug nuts are operatively locked to an adjacent lug nut. The resulting locking system can be rapidly installed on each lug nut on all wheels, so as to provide improved vehicle safety aspects.
TAPERED FASTENER
A vibration resistant nut is provided for attaching a working surface to a threaded stud, the stud extending through a hole defined through the working surface. The nut includes an annulus for receiving the stud. The annulus includes a cylindrical portion and a tapered terminal end portion for being received in the hole. The tapered terminal end portion extends from the cylindrical portion. The tapered terminal end portion has an outer surface that narrows diametrically from the cylindrical portion. The nut includes a head extending from the cylindrical portion of the annulus opposite the tapered terminal end portion, the head having outer engagement surfaces for engaging a tool for rotation of the nut, the head having a threaded interior for engaging threads of the stud.
Wheel
A wheel includes a rim having inner and outer flanges. A first end of each flange is positioned axially outwardly relative to the second end. A pair of bead seats are positioned one adjacent each flange, and each has an axially outer end connected to a second end of its flange by a flange connecting portion, and an axially inner end connected to one of a pair of side parts. Each side part is positioned between a central well and one of the inner and outer flanges, and connected to the well by a well connecting portion. The outer end of each bead seat is positioned radially outwardly relative to bead seat inner end. At least one of the flanges includes an extended portion which extends radially inwardly, such that a free end of the extended portion is positioned radially inwardly relative to the first end of the respective flange.
