A quick release mechanism for a wheel includes a hub and a clip, which interact with a wheel or roller that may or may not be part of the invention per se. The hub is disposable on a drive shaft such that it will rotate with the drive shaft. An optional hub cap is disposable on the wheel and has an opening that is complimentary to the geometry of the hub to allow engagement thereof such that the hub the hub cap rotate together. The clip is disposable on the hub in a closed or an open position so that the hub cap cannot or can be removed from the hub.

A surface shield for an underlying object is disclosed. The surface shield includes a first structure. The first structure has an inner surface and an outer surface. The outer surface includes a plurality of slots. The inner surface is in contact with an underlying surface to be protected. The first structure includes one of a single-part structure or a multi-part structure. The surface shield includes a plurality of clamps removably coupled to the slots of the first structure. Each clamp is coupled to a corresponding slot of the first structure.
High retention force fastener
A high retention force fastener for fixing at least two panels together is disclosed. The fastener includes two components. One component is a metal clip and the other is a plastic insert that can be substantially inserted into the metal clip. The metal clip includes a body having opposed panel engagement features extending therefrom, an insertion stop plate spaced apart from the engagement features and plastic insert locking tabs extending from the stop plate. The metal clip is preferably U-shaped and includes two sides joined by a connector. Each of the sides includes a pair of the panel engagement features. The plastic insert includes a head and a leg for insertion into the metal clip. The leg extends from the head. The plastic insert additionally includes metal tab engagement arms extending from and integrally formed with the head for engaging the plastic insert locking tabs of the metal clip.

The second region is configured to mount to a vehicle axle. The flange extension extends from the first region in a direction away from the second region. The flange extension comprises a first extension end integral with the first region, a second extension end, and an elongate portion intermediate the first extension end and the second extension end. The elongate portion comprising a first portion with a thickness less than a thickness of the second extension end.
