To improve uneven wear resistance performance while maintaining drainage performance. A tyre is provided with a plurality of inclined grooves in a tread portion. Each of the inclined grooves extends from a crown region to a shoulder region. Each of the inclined grooves includes a first portion arranged on the crown region side, a second portion arranged on the shoulder region side, and a third portion connecting between the first portion and the second portion. The third portion has a groove width smaller than the first portion and the second portion. The first portion, the second portion, and the third portion are inclined to the same side with respect to the tyre circumferential direction.

MOTORCYCLE TYRE AND PAIR OF MOTORCYCLE TYRES

A motorcycle tyre has a tread band including a central portion and two shoulder portions arranged at axially opposite sides of the central portion. The central portion includes a first plurality of grooves extended according to a substantially longitudinal direction and alternatively arranged at opposite sides of the equatorial plane of the tyre. Each groove of the first plurality of grooves has a substantially curvilinear course such as to form a concavity. The central portion further includes a sub-portion substantially free of grooves placed astride the equatorial plane of the tyre. Each of the shoulder portions includes a second plurality of grooves arranged obliquely relative to the equatorial plane of the tyre.

A tread portion has an outer tread end that is positioned on an outer side of a vehicle when mounted to the vehicle, a plurality of circumferential grooves that extend continuously in a tire circumferential direction, and a plurality of land portions that are defined by the circumferential grooves. The circumferential grooves include an outer circumferential groove that extends adjacently to a tire equator in a region closer to the outer tread end than the tire equator is. The land portions include an outer shoulder land portion that is defined between the outer circumferential groove and the outer tread end so as to continuously extend therebetween in a tire axial direction, and that has the largest width in the tire axial direction among the land portions. The outer shoulder land portion has a first outer lateral groove that extends inward in the tire axial direction and terminates in the outer shoulder land portion. An angle of the first outer lateral groove relative to the tire axial direction at a terminating position in the outer shoulder land portion is 0 to 20°.

The tread has a contact face that is provided with at least one circumferential groove and a transverse grooves opening to the contact face and delimiting contact elements. The tread has a center region and shoulder regions and is provided with at least one compressive contact element among the contact elements. A volumetric void ratio of the compressive contact element in a unit region surrounded by a center of the at least one circumferential groove and a center of the transverse grooves delimiting the compressive contact element is at least equal to 25%. An aspect ratio, which is defined as a ratio of a surface of the compressive contact element supposed to contact with ground divided by a sum of a surface area of the compressive contact element touching with air other than the surface of the compressive contact element supposed to contact with ground, is at most 70%.

A tire includes a first circumferential main groove 11 and a second circumferential main groove 12 in a tread surface 1. A resonator 21 is formed in an intermediate land portion 20 partitioned between the first circumferential main groove and the second circumferential main groove. The resonator has an auxiliary groove 211 whose both ends terminate within the intermediate land portion. The groove depths D1 of the first and second circumferential main grooves are 50% or less of the groove widths W2 of the first and second circumferential main grooves, respectively. The groove width W3 of the auxiliary groove of the resonator is 80% or less of the groove depth D1 of the first circumferential main groove.

A tire comprises a tread portion having a tread surface and buttress surfaces. The buttress surfaces have inclinations such that the tread edges shift axially outwards as the tread portion is worn off. The tread rubber includes a radially outermost first rubber layer and a radially inner second rubber layer. The loss tangent δ2 of the second rubber layer is larger than the loss tangent δ1 of the first rubber layer. One of or each of the buttress surfaces is provided with an outer lateral groove. The outer lateral groove is located axially outside the tread edge when the tire is new, and when the tread portion is worn off and the tread edge shifts axially outward, the outer lateral groove is at least partially located axially inward of the tread edge.
