DECOUPLING GROOVE FOR TIRE
20220396102 · 2022-12-15 ·

A tire includes a circumferentially continuous decoupling groove that extends radially inward toward the rotational axis of the tire. The decoupling groove is formed by inner and outer walls that are axially spaced apart from each other and joined by a base wall interconnecting inner radial portions thereof. A width between the inner and outer walls of the decoupling groove varies over a radial depth of the decoupling groove. The inner wall extends at an angle of approximately 5° from a radial plane disposed perpendicular to the rotational axis of the tire.

Truck tire with tread design for reducing abnormal wear

A heavy truck tire is provided that includes a casing with a central axis, and a rubber tread that has a first layer and a second layer. The first layer is located farther from the central axis in a radial direction than the second layer. The first layer has a lower max tan(δ) than a max tan(δ) of the second layer. The max tan(δ) of the first layer is from 0.06-0.15, and the max tan(δ) of the second layer is from 0.12-0.27. The tire also has a sculptural feature that reduces irregular wear.

Center land portions of a tire each include a circumferential narrow groove extending in a tire circumferential direction, and a first lateral groove opening to one edge portion of each of the center land portions at one end and connecting to the circumferential narrow groove at the other end, and a second lateral groove opening to the other edge portion of the center land portion at one end and connecting to the circumferential narrow groove at the other end. Further, the circumferential narrow groove has a zigzag shape formed by repeatedly connecting a first long portion, a first short portion, a second long portion, and a second short portion. Furthermore, the first lateral groove connects to the first long portion of the circumferential narrow groove having the zigzag shape, and the second lateral groove connects to the second long portion of the circumferential narrow groove having the zigzag shape.

A shoulder land portion includes a main body land portion formed between a thin groove extending in a tire circumferential direction on a tire width direction inner side of a ground contact end and a shoulder main groove, and the main body land portion includes a contact region adjacent to the shoulder main groove provided along the tire circumferential direction and a non-contact region provided along the tire circumferential direction between the thin groove and the contact region. The contact region contacts a road surface in a normal load state, and the non-contact region is recessed to a tire radial direction inner side from a tread surface. The non-contact region does not contact the road surface in the normal road state, and when a length of the non-contact region is W1 and a length of the main body land portion both along the tire width direction is Rw, 0.2Rw≤W1≤0.5Rw.

Tire

A tire includes a tread portion provided with lateral grooves extending in a tire axial direction and blocks divided by the lateral grooves. At least one of the lateral grooves is provided with a first projected portion with a bottom protruding from a groove bottom of the at least one of the lateral grooves. The first projected portion includes at least one tie-bar portion connecting a pair of blocks with each other which is arranged adjacently through the at least one of the lateral groove, and a narrow rib-portion extending in a longitudinal direction of the at least one of the lateral groove from the at least one tie-bar portion without being connected to the pair of blocks.

Tire

A tire comprises a tread portion whose shoulder land part is provided with a narrow circumferential groove having an axially inner wall surface, an axially outer wall surface and a groove bottom including a deepest point. The axially inner wall surface has a radially inner curved portion concaved toward the axially inside, and the axially outer wall surface has a radially inner curved portion concaved toward the axially outside. the radially outer end of the radially inner curved portion of the axially inner wall surface is positioned radially inside the radially outer end of the radially inner curved portion of the axially outer wall surface.
