TIRE

A tread of a tire can include a cap layer and a base layer. A loss tangent of the cap layer at 30° C. may be not greater than 0.30, and a loss tangent of the base layer at 30° C. may be less than the loss tangent of the cap layer at 30° C. The base layer can be inward of a reference end of the tread in an axial direction A fixing layer can be between the cap layer and a carcass in a radial direction. A first end of the fixing layer can be outward of an end of the base layer in the axial direction, or a position of the first end of the fixing layer can coincide with a position of the end of the base layer in the axial direction. Adhesiveness of the fixing layer can be higher than adhesiveness of the cap layer.

A pneumatic tire includes: paired bead portions respectively including annular bead cores and bead fillers disposed on an outer side in a tire radial direction of the bead cores; sidewall portions respectively extending outward in the tire radial direction from the bead portions; a tread portion connected to cuter ends in the tire radial direction of the sidewall portions to form a tread; and a carcass layer suspended between the bead portions. The carcass layer has a first ply that continuously extends between the bead portions and that has opposite end portions respectively and a second ply that continuously extends on the outer side in the tire radial direction of the first ply, wherein the first ply has higher tensile strength than that of the second ply, and the end portion is positioned on the outer side in the tire radial direction of the end.

The carcass layer has a first ply that continuously extends between the bead portions and that has opposite end portions and a second ply that extends from a position in contact with an inner peripheral face of an end portion, wherein the second ply has higher tensile strength than the tensile strength of the first ply.

MOTORCYCLE TIRE SET

A motorcycle tire set includes a front-wheel tire and a rear-wheel tire. Each of the front and rear-wheel tires includes a carcass, a band layer arranged radially outwardly of the carcass in the tread portion, and a tread rubber arranged radially outwardly of the band layer. The carcass includes a carcass ply including carcass cords. The band layer includes a jointless band ply in which a band cord is circumferentially wound spirally at an angle equal to or less than 5 degrees. The tread rubber includes a crown rubber portion. An angle θ1 of the carcass cords of the front-wheel tire is 65 degrees or more with respect to the tire circumferential direction. A rubber hardness of the crown rubber portion of the rear-wheel tire is greater than a rubber hardness of the crown rubber portion of the front-wheel tire.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A REINFORCEMENT STRUCTURE FOR A TIRE

The reinforcing structure for a tire is in the form of a stratified assembly formed of two layers of reinforcing strips of completely connected cross section, and flattened in shape. According to the method, the strips of each layer are laid side by side in a main direction of laying. The strips of the first layer are spaced apart by a distance that is less than the width of the strips of the second layer and in such a way that the edges of the strips of the first layer overlap the edges of the strips of the second layer. The two layers of strips are separated by a layer of uncoupling rubber.

Tire reinforcement

A reinforcement structure for a polymer ply includes a plurality of flat woven cords. Each flat woven cord has a width between 0.5 mm and 1.6 mm and a thickness between 0.2 mm and 0.8 mm thereby producing the reinforcement structure with an overall width between 25.0 mm and 26.0 mm. Each flat woven cord includes materials with melting points between 130° C. and 230° C.

A pneumatic tire 1 comprises a carcass 6 comprising at least one carcass ply 6A extending between bead portions 4 via sidewall portions 3 and a tread portion 2. The carcass ply 6A comprises strip-shaped ply pieces 11 longer in a tire radial direction than in a tire circumferential direction arranged circumferentially. Each of the ply pieces 11 comprises a plurality of carcass cords 12 arranged in parallel in the tire radial direction and at least partly overlapping each other with the ply pieces 11 circumferentially adjacent. At least one of the carcass cords 12 arranged in at least one of side edge portions 11e in the tire circumferential direction of each of the ply pieces 11 having a diameter (Ce) smaller than a diameter (Cc) of at least one of the carcass cords 12 arranged in a center portion 11c of each of the ply pieces 11.

STEEL CORD AND TIRE

A steel cord includes a two-layer stranded construction including a core in which two or three core filaments are twisted, and including a one-layer outer sheath in which outer sheath filaments are helically wound around the core and along a longitudinal direction of the core. The core filaments have same filament diameters as the outer sheath filaments, length of lay for the core is same as length of lay for the outer sheath, and length of lay/filament diameter, which indicates a ratio of length of lay to a filament diameter, is between 50 and 75. Two or more filaments selected from among the core filaments and the outer sheath filaments, are crimped filaments each including bent sections and non-bent sections that are repeatedly disposed along the longitudinal direction.
