A leaf spring suspension system for a vehicle includes an axle. The leaf spring suspension system includes a leaf spring having a top side, a bottom side, and a pair of side edges, wherein at least one of the side edges defines a pair of recesses extending inwardly from the side edge. The leaf spring suspension system also includes a clamping assembly operatively coupling the leaf spring to the axle, the clamping assembly comprising a pair of U-shaped bars, wherein a portion of the U-shaped bars is disposed within the pair of recesses of the leaf spring.

The leaf spring suspension system includes a leaf spring having a top side, a bottom side, and a pair of side edges, wherein at least one of the side edges defines a pair of recesses extending inwardly from the side edge. A modular axle clamp and riser system for use in a suspension system, which includes a top mount having a substantially flat upper surface, a top mount body which extends transversely to the flat upper surface, a pair of opposing ears which extend from the top mount body, and at least one top mount tooth extending from the top mount body in a direction opposite the ears. Also included is a wedge with at least one wedge tooth which matingly engages the at least one top mount tooth, a wedge upper surface, and a pinion angle surface. Further, the wedge defines a pinion angle between the wedge upper surface and the pinion angle surface. Moreover, an axle mount with at least one axle mount tooth which matingly engages at least one of the at least one top mount tooth and the at least one wedge tooth is provided.

A leaf spring vehicle suspension system includes a chassis rail and an axle. The suspension system also includes a first stage leaf spring. The suspension system further includes a second stage leaf spring. The suspension system yet further includes a third stage leaf spring operatively coupled at a first end and a second end to the chassis rail, wherein the first stage leaf spring is located below the third stage leaf spring and the second stage leaf spring is located below the first stage leaf spring. The suspension system also include a spacer in abutment with a leaf spring, wherein the spacer is formed of at least one composite material.

The energy storing suspension components include an axle seat portion, a first end, and a first limb extending between the axle seat portion and the first end. The axle seat portion includes first and second surfaces with at least one of the first and second surfaces having at least two spaced apart recesses that are spaced from a center of the axle seat portion, the recesses being configured to receive respective protrusions extending from at least one suspension component that is connected to the energy storing suspension component when coupled within an axle coupling assembly.
