PRELOAD COLLAR FOR A VEHICLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM
A preload collar for a vehicle spring is described. The preload collar is coupled to the shock absorber of a vehicle so that the lower end of the vehicle spring is pressing against the preload collar. The preload collar does not allow the lower end of the vehicle spring to extend toward the ground, or toward the lower end of the shock absorber, as much as it normally would. This pre-loading of the vehicle spring provides suspension lift to the vehicle.

A coilover shock absorber includes a damper element and a coil spring, where the coilover shock absorber includes a first mount for the damper element and a second mount for the damper element, and where the coilover shock absorber includes a first seat for the coil spring and a second seat for the coil spring, where the first mount for the damper element is operatively separate from the first seat for the coil spring, where the second mount for the damper element is operatively separate from the second seat for the coil spring. The resulting inverted coilover shock absorber allows for separate load paths for the damper element and the coil spring to the chassis.

A suspension thrust bearing device for use with a suspension spring in an automotive suspension strut of a vehicle. The device includes an upper annular bearing member and a lower annular bearing member in relative rotation. The lower annular bearing member having a body provided with an embedded stiffening insert. The device further provides a damping element made of resilient material and interposed between the lower annular bearing member and the suspension spring. A radial flange of the damping element prevents separation from the lower side of the radial flange of the lower cap.

DAMPER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CHANGING A GROUND CLEARANCE OF A VEHICLE
A damper system for changing a ground clearance of a vehicle, including a main damper having a main damper chamber and a main damper piston movably arranged in a main damper tube and a spring assembly. The spring assembly includes a spring, a lower spring seat, and an upper spring seat. The spring is arranged between the lower spring seat and the upper spring seat, wherein one of the lower spring seat and the upper spring seat includes a cylinder and a piston, and the other one of the lower spring seat and the upper spring seat is coupled to the main damper and movable with the spring. The piston of the spring assembly is steplessly adjustable between a first position and a second position, wherein the first position corresponds to a predefined minimum ground clearance and the second position corresponds to a predefined maximum ground clearance.
Suspension strut and vehicle
A suspension strut for a wheel suspension of a vehicle may have a vibration damper, a supporting spring that partially surrounds an outer tube of the vibration damper and is supported by a spring collar, and a lifting device for height adjustment of the vehicle. The lifting device may comprise a hollow piston and a cylinder that are arranged concentrically around the outer tube. The hollow piston may be guided axially between the outer tube and the cylinder and is connected to the spring collar to adjust a base point of the supporting spring. The hollow piston may comprise a stripping and sealing element that lies against the vibration damper.
