COUPLED TORSION BEAM AXLE BUSHING
A coupled torsion beam axle (CTBA) bushing is press-fitted into a bushing bracket provided at a tip of a trailing arm at each of two opposite sides of a CTBA suspension system. In particular, the CTBA bushing includes: an outer pipe including a through-hole formed therein; an inner pipe positioned in the through-hole; and a bushing rubber disposed in the through-hole and positioned between an outer peripheral surface of the inner pipe and an inner peripheral surface of the outer pipe, in which the bushing rubber includes: first compounds extending in a first direction, which is a diameter direction of the inner pipe, with the inner pipe interposed therebetween; and a second compounds integrated with the first compounds and extending in a second direction, which is perpendicular to the first direction, with the inner pipe interposed therebetween.
Method for producing a bent torsional profile and torsional profile
The invention relates to a method for producing a bent torsional profile comprising the following process steps: a) provision of a plate made of planar sheet metal, b) reshaping of the plate through the introduction of a bent trough oriented in the longitudinal direction of the plate in a central length portion (6) of the plate at a distance from the front edges of the plate, forming legs between the trough and the longitudinal edges of the plate, c) reshaping of the legs in such a manner that an open profile is created, d) reshaping of the legs in such a manner that a hollow profile is produced, wherein a longitudinal gap is formed between the two legs over the entire longitudinal extent thereof and wherein an air gap is created between the legs and the trough in the region of the trough, e) joining of the two legs over the entire longitudinal gap.
Torsion beam manufacturing method and torsion beam manufacturing apparatus
This torsion beam manufacturing method is for manufacturing a torsion beam including a central portion of which a cross-section orthogonal to a longitudinal direction is a closed cross-section having a substantial V-shape or a substantial U-shape at any position in the longitudinal direction, and a shape changing portion which has a connection region leading to the central portion and including a closed cross-section having a shape different from the shape of the closed cross-section of the central portion. This torsion beam manufacturing method has a compression step of thickening at least the connection region through application of a compression force in the longitudinal direction to at least the connection region of a torsion beam material to obtain the torsion beam, the torsion beam material being formed with the central portion and the shape changing portion.
Hub bracket structure
The present disclosure relates to a hub bracket structure wherein a hub bracket that connects a trailing arm and a hub includes a hub mounting surface, a front connecting surface that connects a front portion of the hub mounting surface and the trailing arm, and a rear connecting surface that connects a rear portion of the hub mounting surface and the trailing arm, each of the front connecting surface and the rear connecting surface is formed in a plate shape extending in up-down and vehicle width directions, and an angle formed by the hub mounting surface and the front connecting surface is greater than an angle formed by the hub mounting surface and the rear connecting surface.
Semi-Rigid Axle for a Vehicle
A semi-rigid axle for a vehicle may include a torsion profile, which extends in a Y direction and is open downward in a Z direction; and two longitudinal control arms, which are connected to the semi-rigid axle and are each connected to the torsion profile by a gusset plate arrangement. Each gusset plate arrangement has a first gusset plate welded to one of the two longitudinal control arms and a second gusset plate arranged at least partially above the first gusset plate. First and second connecting sections of the first and second gusset plates are connected to one another and each of the first and second gusset plates. The first and second connecting sections may be welded to an inside of the torsion profile on both sides in an X direction.
Vehicle Twist Axle Assembly
The twist axle assembly includes a twist beam which is made of a single integral piece, extends along a length between opposite ends and the twist beam has an open cross-sectional shape between the ends. The twist beam is stamped into a U-shape with a middle section that extends in a first direction between a pair of trailing arm sections. The trailing arm sections extend at least partially in a second direction that is generally transverse to the first direction to reduce twisting stresses within the trailing arm portions during operation of the twist axle assembly.
Vehicle Axle
A traverse strut for use in a twist beam axle assembly is provided. The traverse strut extends along a length and presents a central section; a pair of end sections; and a pair of intermediate sections between the central section and the respective end sections. At least a portion of the central section has a first wall thickness, at least a portion of each end section has a second wall thickness that is greater than the first wall thickness and at least a portion of each intermediate section has a third wall thickness that is greater than the second wall thickness. Additionally, at least two of the central, intermediate and end sections is work hardened. The transverse strut has improved performance and lower weight as compared to other known transverse struts.
Axle arrangement with modularly fixable axle setting, and method for the production thereof, and motor vehicle with twist beam axle
An axle arrangement is provided having a wheel carrier with fastening arms. By placement of an assembly opening in the fastening arm in a motor vehicle transverse direction (Y), it is possible to fix the track width with the use of identical parts.
Bi-metallic component and method of making the same
A bi-metallic component including a tubular stud member extending from an open first end to an open second end, and a cast member cast around the open second end of the tubular stud member is provided. The cast member is formed from first material, such as an aluminum alloy; and the tubular stud member is formed from a second material, such as steel. The tubular stub member has an interior surface which sealingly receives a removable core member for preventing molten first material from flowing through the stub member between the open ends thereof during casting of the cast member around the second end. The bi-metallic component can be used in a variety of automotive applications, for example in a cradle, frame, twist axle, control arm, door pillar, instrument panel support, or bumper assembly.
