The pressurized gas damper includes first and second working chambers that are fluidly connected by a flow control orifice. The electromagnetic actuator includes a stator assembly with a stator cavity and a magnetic rotor that is slidingly received in the stator cavity. The magnetic rotor is fixed to a damper tube that houses the second working chamber. The stator cavity and an end of the damper tube cooperate to define the first working chamber. The pressurized gas spring includes a bellows chamber that extends annularly about the damper tube. The damper tube includes an opening between the second working chamber and the bellows chamber.
HYBRID-ELECTROMAGNETIC SUSPENSION CAPABLE OF SELF-POWERING AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
Provided is a hybrid electromagnetic suspension capable of self-powering and a control method thereof. The hybrid electromagnetic suspension includes an integrated structure of linear motor and cylinder block of equivalent hydraulic damper, a suspension spring, a connecting pipeline, a hydraulic rectifier bridge, an accumulator, a hydraulic motor and a rotary motor. The upper and lower chambers of the working cylinder, the lower chamber of working cylinder and oil storage cylinder are connected through the hydraulic rectifier bridge and the pipeline. The control has three modes including passive mode, semi-active mode and active mode. The ECU detects the road level according to the received sensor signal, and switches to the corresponding mode to control the suspension according to obtained road level, so as to obtain the optimal suspension performance under each road level. In the device of the invention, the linear motor and the equivalent hydraulic damper recover the vibration energy together in the case of good road condition; the linear motor and the equivalent hydraulic damper attenuate the suspension vibration together in the case of poor road surface, and at the same time the equivalent hydraulic damper also recovers the vibration energy, thus the self-powering can be realized
Ball joint
A ball joint (1), for a vehicle chassis, having a joint housing (3) and a joint body (4) having a spherical portion (5). The joint body (4) is held by the joint housing (3) at the spherical portion (5) of the joint body such that the joint body is mounted for articulation movement relative to the joint housing. A sensor assembly comprises a first sensor element (6) associated with the joint housing (4) and a second sensor element (7) associated with the joint body (4). The second sensor element interacts with the first sensor element (6) in order to sense the position of the joint body (4) relative to the joint housing (3). The ball joint is characterized in that the second sensor element (7) is arranged in the region of the spherical portion (5) of the joint body (4).
Active suspension system with electropermanent magnets
A stability control system that detects a change in a vehicle operating characteristic and sends a stabilizing command to an actuator system based on identifying the change is described. The actuator system applies a first magnetic field having a predetermined strength to an electropermanent magnet for a predetermined duration based on receiving the stabilizing command. The first magnetic field transitions the electropermanent magnet from a first state to a second state. The electropermanent magnet generates a second magnetic field in the second state. The second magnetic field modifies at least one of a spring constant or a mechanical resistance of a suspension component within a suspension system of the vehicle, and the electropermanent magnet retains the second state after the predetermined duration in absence of the first magnetic field.

Damper with electro-magnetic actuator
A damper system for a vehicle is provided that includes an outer tube, a piston rod, and a piston assembly that is mounted to the piston rod and separates the outer tube into first and second working chambers. A valve assembly, mounted to the piston assembly, controls fluid flow between the first and second working chambers. A magnetic rotor is fixed to and extends annularly about the outer tube.
