A sun visor assembly for a vehicle that includes a mount configured to be connected to the vehicle. A guide rod having a first portion that includes a head and a second portion with a terminal end is operably coupled to the mount via the head. An impact point is at the terminal end of the second portion. The guide rod and the impact point are configured for use as a window breaker tool in a disassembled position. A visor is operably coupled to the guide rod in an assembled position and is rotatable about the guide rod from a first position to a second position. The visor includes a channel defined within the visor that is configured to receive the guide rod.

A lock release tool including a stopper block, a finger grip extending from the stopper block, and a key tab extending from the stopper block. The key tab is sized for insertion within a keyhole slot in a locking assembly, the stopper block is sized to limit insertion of the key tab within the keyhole slot, and the key tab includes a contact surface at a distal end thereof. The contact surface is configured to release the locking assembly.

A visor can be manually positioned in a number of directions such that it is manually rotatable about an axis of rotation, and wherein that axis of rotation is itself manually pivotable through a range of angles about a pivot member. A sun visor assembly may include a visor having a first attachment including a first magnet, and a second attachment arranged on a vehicle headliner and including a pair of spaced supports and a pin maintained therein, wherein the pin includes a second magnet and is rotatable with respect to the supports, wherein the first attachment is configured to selectively attach to the second attachment via the first and second magnets, and further wherein the pin is rotatable in an attached state to adjust an angle of the visor.

A mounting assembly for a vehicle sun visor includes a mounting bracket having a first locking element and a first rotation element. The mounting assembly also includes a cover having a second locking element and a second rotation element. The first locking element is configured to engage the second locking element while the cover is in a transport position to block movement of the cover relative to the mounting bracket, the first rotation element is configured to engage the second rotation element while the cover is in an extended position to enable rotation of the cover relative to the mounting bracket, and the cover conceals a fastener opening of the mounting bracket while the cover is in the closed position.
