A vehicle top latch and seal assembly system, comprising: a vehicle top portion having a back portion, front portion, left portion and right portion; a back left L-latch attached to the back portion; a back right L-latch attached to the back portion; a front left L-latch attached to the front portion; a front right L-latch attached to the front portion; a left side windshield latch; and a right side windshield latch. The left side windshield latch and the right side windshield latch may each have a raised spacer, three screws running through and attaching the raised spacer to the vehicle top portion, a latch cushioning rubber and a latch handle with an open position and a closed position. There may be foam spacers and T-knob assemblies in communication with portions of the vehicle top portion.

The biasing mechanism biases the locking member to a first, locked position within the housing whereby a locking pin received though the keyhole opening cannot be removed via an axial force exerted on the locking pin. The locking member is movable against the bias of the biasing mechanism to a second, clearance position whereby the locking pin can be withdrawn from the locking member.

Method and apparatus for fastening hard and soft top appliques

An apparatus and method according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, providing a vehicle with a hard top option where a hard top can be attached to the vehicle, a soft top option where a soft top can be attached to the vehicle, and a dual top option where either the hard top or the soft top can be attached to the vehicle. A hard top applique is provided for the hard top and a soft top applique is provided for the soft top, and a common set of fasteners is used to attach the hard top applique and the soft top applique to a pillar as needed to attach the hard top or soft top to the vehicle.

MULTI-PANEL REMOVABLE ROOF SYSTEM

A vehicle removable roof system including a fixed vehicle structure, one or more removable panels configured to engage with the fixed vehicle structure, and a water management system positioned between the one or more removable panels and the fixed vehicle structure. The removable panels may be formed of a composite sandwich panel assembly, which may include an open area core defining pores, a high gloss surface sheet adhered to a first face of the open area core by a first adhesive layer, and a structural skin adhered to a second side of the open area core by a second adhesive layer. The removable panels are configured for installation to and removal from the fixed vehicle structure by a single user and without the use of tools.

The roof unit is fixed to the front roof arch and the rear roof arch by engaging an axially movable front fixing pin with a pin hole of the front roof arch and engaging an axially movable rear fixing pin with a pin hole of the rear roof arch, and an opening formed in a central part of the roof unit is opened and closed by a canvas that can be unfolded and folded. Accordingly, it is possible to achieve a balance between an open feel of the Targa top vehicle and convenience of simply opening and closing the opening of a roof.
