INSIDE MOUNTING MODULAR FUEL FILL POCKET ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE
A fuel fill pocket mounting system includes a mounting bracket having an inboard surface and an outboard surface. The outboard surface is bonded to an interior surface of a sheet molded composite body panel. A filler housing is attached to the inboard surface of the mounting bracket. The filler housing includes a wall defining an interior space. A snap in bezel is attached to the filler housing within the interior space. The bezel includes an outer lip disposed against the wall of the filler housing. The bezel includes a rubber material in sealing engagement with a fuel inlet pipe to limit fuel leakage between the bezel and the fuel inlet pipe.
Fuel tank structure for saddle-ride type vehicle
A fuel tank structure for a saddle-ride vehicle for discharging fuel leaking out from a filler neck between a cover member and a fuel tank. The fuel tank structure includes a filler neck having a collar portion projecting upwardly from an upper surface of a fuel tank with a tank cap to seal the filler neck. A tank cover includes a cover opening portion into which the collar portion is inserted for covering the circumference of the filler neck. The tank cap has an extending wall portion for surrounding the outside of the collar portion and extending to a position below the cover opening portion so that fuel leaking from the filler neck is discharged through a clearance between the fuel tank and the tank cover.
FUEL ADAPTER STRUCTURE
A fuel adapter includes: an adapter main body, an outer panel-side seal part, and an inner panel-side seal part. The adapter main body is formed of a rigid plastic. The outer panel-side seal part and the inner panel-side seal part are formed of a flexible plastic to be elastically deformable. The inner panel-side seal part is capable of being subject to a deflection deformation that absorbs a variation of a relative position between the outer panel and the inner panel.
FUNNEL SYSTEM FOR A GAS TANK
A funnel system for a gas tank that can be stored within the gas tank during operation of a machine such as a lawnmower or snow blower. Upon removing the cap of the gas tank in a first embodiment, a funnel is moved toward an open position as the funnel is biased toward the open position. Once fuel is added to the gas tank, a guide member of the cap is utilized to force the funnel toward the closed position and then secured to the gas tank. A second embodiment utilizes a separate guide member, separate from the cap to move the funnel to and from the open position to the closed position.
Refueling retainer
A refueling retainer comprises a body portion of a tubular shape inserted into and arranged at a fueling-side end portion of an inlet pipe through which fuel is introduced to a fuel tank. The body portion comprises at a leading end portion thereof: a tapered portion, which is an inner peripheral surface of the leading end portion inclined radially inward toward a leading end of the body portion; and a claw portion that projects from the leading end of the body portion in an inwardly bent manner.
Refueling portion structure of fuel tank
A refueling portion structure of a fuel tank has: a refueling pipe that has a refueling port; an opening/closing valve that is provided on a flow path within the refueling pipe; an accommodating portion that is provided at an outer side of the refueling pipe, that accommodates at an interior thereof an adsorbing material that adsorbs vapor fuel that has formed due to the liquid fuel evaporating, that communicates with the flow path further toward the refueling port side than the opening/closing valve, and into which the liquid fuel can flow; an atmospheric air passage, by which the accommodating portion communicates with atmospheric air; and a vapor movement passage, by which the accommodating portion communicates with an engine, and that is for moving vapor that is within the accommodating portion to the engine due to negative pressure from the engine.
FUEL CAP BIB
A fuel cap bib for protecting aluminum fuel tanks from being scratched by hanging fuel caps during fueling is provided. The fuel cap bib is a sheet of petroleum-based fluid resistant, elastic material having a through hole dimensioned and adapted to deformed over an engaged fuel cap and yet snugly bias about the circumferential flanges the fuel cap engages. The fuel cap bib provides a protective surface between the disengaged, hanging fuel cap and the aluminum fuel tank.
Tank recess
A tank recess for motor vehicles comprising a recess body having a device for fastening to a vehicle body opening from outside and having a tank feed line sealing portion, characterized in that the recess body has a fold-over sealing edge on the base portion, such that a flange on an inner metal plate of the vehicle body opening is encompassed by the fold-over sealing edge, such that in the installed position the sealing edge is able to be placed sealingly around the flange of the vehicle body opening.
