REMOTELY CONTROLLING VEHICLE TOUCHSCREEN CONTROLS
Techniques are described that facilitate remotely interfacing with a vehicle touchscreen. According to an embodiment, a method is provided comprising determining touch controls included in a GUI configured for displaying on a touchscreen of the vehicle, wherein the touch controls provide for controlling functions of the vehicle based on first interaction with the touch controls as displayed on the touchscreen. The method further comprises generating a representation of the GUI for display via an auxiliary display of the auxiliary device, the representation comprising one or more graphical controls corresponding to one or more touch controls of the touch controls, and enabling remote control of one or more functions of the functions of the vehicle by the auxiliary device based on second interaction with the one or more graphical controls as displayed via the auxiliary display.
Providing a communications channel between instances of automated assistants
Implementations relate to interactions, over a wireless communication modality, between an automated assistant of an automobile computer system, and separate client device(s). In some of those implementations, the client device(s) can be paired with the automobile computer system, and the client device(s) and the automobile computer system can include separate instances of an automated assistant, which can be associated with different user accounts. In some additional or alternative implementations, particular actions to be performed by a local application of a client device can be advanced via user interaction with the automobile automated assistant, despite a counterpart to the local application not being installed directly on automobile computer system. For example, despite an automobile computer system not having a third-party messaging application installed, the automobile automated assistant can access requested actions to be performed by the third-party messaging application in order to further a requested action. The automobile computer system can transmit, via the wireless communication modality, content to cause the third-party application to further the requested action.
IN-VEHICLE COMPONENT USER INTERFACE
A system may include an in-vehicle component, including a first control set to configure the component, configured to identify a device associated with a user approach to the component; and send an interaction request to the device to cause the device to display a user interface for the component including a second control set to configure the component, the second control set including at least one function unavailable in the first control set. A personal device may receive, from an in-vehicle component including a first control set to configure the component, a user interface definition descriptive of a second control set to configure the component; and receive, from the component, a request to display a user interface for the component including the second control set to configure the component, the second control set including at least one function unavailable in the first control set.
PROVIDING USER INTERFACES BASED ON USE CONTEXTS AND MANAGING PLAYBACK OF MEDIA
The present disclosure generally relates to providing user interfaces based on one or more use contexts and using a receiving device as a hub between the transmitting device and an accessory, where the receiving device establishes a secure connection with the transmitting device and the accessory and provides identifying information to the transmitting device that is typically associated with the accessory.
Systems and methods for determining application availability
Example systems and methods for determining application availability are described. In one implementation, a vehicle entertainment system establishes a communication link with a mobile device near the vehicle. The vehicle entertainment system receives, from the mobile device, an identification of currently available applications on the mobile device. The vehicle entertainment system also updates an in-vehicle user interface to display the currently available applications on the mobile device to at least one occupant of the vehicle.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTERACTING WITH A MOBILE DEVICE USING A HEAD-UP DISPLAY
The invention relates to systems and methods for executing functions on a mobile device based on gestures and commands of a user inside a vehicle. The system comprises a head-up display that reflects the screen of a mobile device and a motion-detection device connected to the mobile device. The motion-detection device is configured to gather information on the movement of the user's fingers regardless of whether or not the user's hands are on the steering wheel of the vehicle. The mobile device is configured to classify the movement of the user's fingers in a predetermined gesture associated with a predefined instruction, based on which a function is executed on the mobile device.
INFORMATION DISPLAY APPARATUS, INFORMATION DISPLAY SYSTEM, INFORMATION DISPLAY METHOD, AND PROGRAM
An information display apparatus according to an embodiment includes a first display unit configured to display information, a placement part including a noncontact charging unit configured to charge the placed portable terminal apparatus, an orientation determination unit configured to determine an orientation of the placed portable terminal apparatus, a first display control unit, and a charging control unit. The charging control unit controls the noncontact charging unit so as to perform a process for charging the portable terminal apparatus when the portable terminal apparatus is placed on the placement part. The first display control unit displays information to be displayed in the first display unit while changing the information according to whether the orientation of the portable terminal apparatus determined by the orientation determination unit is a first orientation or a second orientation different from the first orientation.
VEHICLE INTEGRATED COMPUTER
An electric vehicle (EV) can include a VIC in operable communication with the EV main computer and the EV infotainment system. The VIC can include a processor, a memory in operable communication with the processor, and a computer-readable medium in operable communication with the processor and having software, such as a hypervisor, stored thereon. The VIC can be configured to have internet connectivity.
