Capacitive occupant classification sensor with load-dependent antenna area
A capacitive sensor member of a vehicle seat occupant detection and classification device that includes a first electrically conductive antenna member and at least a second electrically conductive antenna member that is adjacently arranged to the first electrically conductive antenna member without any mutual galvanic connection. At least one electrically conductive bridging member is fixedly attached to at least one elastic spacer member that has elastic mechanical properties in a specified direction. If a mechanical load is applied to the capacitive sensor member in the specified direction that is equal to or larger than a predetermined value for the mechanical load, the at least one electrically conductive bridging member provides at least one galvanic contact between the first electrically conductive antenna member and the second electrically conductive antenna member.
LOCKING HARNESS
A retainer apparatus including a first retainer portion, a second retainer portion, and a sensor comprising a motion detector and an alarm. The retainer apparatus includes the first retainer portion configured to be slidably attached to a first harness strap and a second retainer portion configured to be slidably attached to a second harness strap. The first retainer portion is removably attached to the second retainer portion. The motion detector is configured to detect movement of the retainer apparatus and activate the alarm to alert a user in a vehicle if movement of the retainer apparatus is detected.
Locking harness
A retainer apparatus including a first retainer portion, a second retainer portion, a transceiver, and a sensor comprising a motion detector. The retainer apparatus includes the first retainer portion configured to be slidably attached to a first harness strap and a second retainer portion configured to be slidably attached to a second harness strap. The first retainer portion is removably attached to the second retainer portion. The motion detector is configured to detect movement of the retainer apparatus and transmit a warning signal, via the transceiver, to a controller within a vehicle comprising the retainer apparatus to alert a user in the vehicle if the movement is detected.
Restraint apparatus and method with alert
In embodiments, apparatuses, methods and storage media (transitory and non-transitory) are described that are associated with providing alerts to a caregiver in a vehicle. In various embodiments, an apparatus may include a first sensor coupled with a restraint to provide a restraint indicator, a second sensor coupled with a securing component to provide an attachment indicator, and an alert module operated by one or more processors to cause a wireless transmitter to transmit an alert signal based at least in part on the restraint indicator and the attachment indicator. In various embodiments, a warning apparatus may include an output device and a warning module operated by one or more processors to activate the output device based at least in part on a wireless alert signal from a car seat in a vehicle that indicates the car seat is in use.
Sensor device and device for checking the operational condition of a harness of a safety seat
A device for controlling the correct operating state of a restraining harness, intended for a safety seat, including at least one retaining strap that is under tension when the harness is in the state of restraining the occupant, the device being intended to be disposed in a predefined area of the latter, the device including: at least one sensor device including an elongate flexible element that is suitable for being positioned on the strap, and in particular rigidly connected thereto in the predefined area, and that is provided with a measuring system to measure, in the predefined area, at least a level of bending and/or tilting of the strap, a device to collect values linked to the level of bending and/or tilting, and internal or external device configured to analyze the values and of communicating with a receiver for receiving information on the operating state of the retaining harness.
CAPACITIVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR WITH LOAD-DEPENDENT ANTENNA AREA
A capacitive sensor member (130) of a vehicle seat occupant detection and classification device (18) comprises a first electrically conductive antenna member (132) and at least a second electrically conductive antenna member (134) that is adjacently arranged to the first electrically conductive antenna member (132) without any mutual galvanic connection. At least one electrically conductive bridging member (146) is fixedly attached to at least one elastic spacer member (148) that has elastic mechanical properties in a specified direction (54). If a mechanical load (F) is applied to the capacitive sensor member (130) in the specified direction (54) that is equal to or larger than a predetermined value for the mechanical load (F), the at least one electrically conductive bridging member (146) provides at least one galvanic contact between the first electrically conductive antenna member (132) and the second electrically conductive antenna member (134).
CHILD RESTRAINT
A child restraint configured to be securable to and separable from a base installed in a vehicle, the child restraint comprising an illuminator positioned on an external portion of the child restraint, configured to operate in a first mode, illuminating a first region external to the child restraint wherein, in the event that the child restraint is not secured to the base, and the child restraint is moved, the illuminator will be activated in its first mode, illuminating the first region external to the child restraint for the purpose of aiding securement to the base, and wherein in the event that the child restraint is secured to the base, the first mode will be deactivated.
System and Method for Child Car Seat Safety Detection and Notification
A system and method for child car seat safety detection and notification are disclosed. A particular embodiment is configured to: provide at least one sensor to measure a condition present in an environment in which a child is restrained in a child car seat in a vehicle; determine, based on sensor data from the sensor, if the condition requires a notification to be sent to a user; generate a notification message including at least a portion of the sensor data and information indicative of a location of the child car seat; send the notification message to a mobile device application; and send the notification message to a vehicle subsystem application.
Baby car seat and dock alarm system
The baby car seat and dock alarm system comprises a car seat, docking base, and a docking alarm system. The docking alarm system comprises sensors and a control module. The control module monitors the sensors and detects when an alarm condition exists. The control module communicates with vehicle subsystems and with the driver's smart phone using two transceivers in the control unit. When the control unit detects an alarm condition it may attempt to notify the driver and/or bystanders and it may attempt to remedy the situation. As a non-limiting example, if the control module detects that a child has been left in a hot, unattended vehicle, it may notify the driver via a text message, notify bystanders by sounding the vehicle horn, and remedy the situation by lowering the vehicle's windows.
Determining and responding to an internal status of a vehicle
Aspects of the disclosure relate to determining and responding to an internal state of a self-driving vehicle. For instance, an image of an interior of the vehicle captured by a camera mounted in the vehicle is received. The image is processed in order to identify one or more visible markers at predetermined locations within the vehicle. The internal state of the vehicle is determined based on the identified one or more visible markers. A responsive action is identified action using the determined internal state, and the vehicle is controlled in order to perform the responsive action.
