FLOOR MAT WITH INTEGRAL GROMMET AND RETAINER
A retainer for a floor mat positioned on a vehicle floor, where the floor mat includes at least one grommet. The retainer includes a body having a top edge and a bottom edge, a flange extending radially outwardly from the top edge of the body and a protruding member extending radially outwardly from an inner surface of the body, where the protruding member is between the top edge and the bottom edge of the body, and the body is removably attached to the at least one grommet by engaging the protruding member with the grommet.
DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR ASSISTING A VEHICLE DRIVER WITH TRANSPORTING FOOD/DRINKS AND ASSOCIATED ITEMS
The system is for securely transporting food and associated items within a passenger compartment of a vehicle. The system includes a seat cover to be installed on a seat within the passenger compartment of the vehicle. A seat platform is carried by the seat bottom portion, and includes a non-slip upper surface segment positioned over a leveling support segment configured to sit atop a seat bottom of the seat. The leveling support segment includes a lower conformable compartment configured to conformably interface with the seat bottom and level the non-slip upper surface segment there above. The non-slip upper surface segment is configured to hold food containers and prevent sliding thereof. A plurality of holders are carried by the seat back portion of the seat cover and configured to hold the associated items. A drink holder may be coupled to a front of the seat platform and configured to securely hold a plurality of drinks.
Floor mat with integral grommet and retainer
A floor mat for a vehicle having a floor is provided and includes a mat body having a core, an upper surface and an opposing lower surface. A grommet is integrally formed with the mat body and is contained between the upper surface and the lower surface of the mat body, where the grommet includes an outer surface having a protruding member. A retainer includes a body having an inner surface and a flange extending radially outwardly from the inner surface, where the inner surface includes a protruding member, such that the retainer is removably secured to the grommet by engaging the protruding member of the grommet with the protruding member of the retainer.
Vehicle with floor area having perforations
A vehicle floor area may include a body and a floor. The floor may be attached to and positioned at least partially above the body. The floor may comprise floor perforations. A collection receptacle may be supported by the body and positioned at least partially below the floor so that solid waste or liquid waste can fall through the floor perforations onto the collection receptacle. The waste that has fallen onto the collection receptacle may be removed from the collection receptacle.
Vehicle floor mat with supports for irregular vehicle floor
A floor mat for placement on a vehicle floor, where the floor mat includes a body having a bottom wall, an upper surface, and a bottom surface, and a front wall extending from the bottom wall. The upper surface and the bottom surface extending along the bottom wall and the front wall. A first portion of the bottom surface of the bottom wall having a support structure provided with a variable height such that the shape of the support structure complements the irregularities in the vehicle floor, where the support structure extends from the bottom surface of the bottom wall, and a second portion of the bottom surface of the bottom wall has a flat surface, where upon the vehicle floor mat being placed on the vehicle floor, the support structure engages the irregularities in the vehicle floor so that the upper surface of the bottom wall is generally level.
Vibration-based tracking system
A vehicle movement tracking system that employs floor mats having ridges for generating location information in the form of modulated vibrations, detectable with an accelerometer. Two sensors are in a wheel of a vehicle. One sensor senses wheel rotation, and the other sensor senses vertical acceleration. The vehicle passes over a floor mat comprising vertically elevated ridges thereon that code the mat and thereby indicate the location at which the mat is at. When the vehicle travels over this mat the vertical acceleration sensor in the wheel detects the vertically elevated ridges and the wheel rotation sensor detects the distance between the vertically elevated ridges. In combination these two sensors are used to create a location word that denotes the mat over which the vehicle passes over. The location word is stored in non-volatile memory and later uploaded to a location collection station.
Method for displaying scenery on a floor mat or floor liner
A method for forming a scene into a floor mat or floor liner, comprising the steps of: receiving a digital image comprised of a plurality of pixels, each pixel having an initial pixel value and a relative position in the digital image; assigning either a first value or a second value to each pixel according to the initial pixel value of each pixel; creating a mold having a surface with a plurality of raised portions, wherein the relative shape, dimension, and position of each raised portion, with respect to each other raised portion, is defined by the relative position, within the digital image, of at least one pixel having the assigned first value.
Overmold decorative floor mat emblem
A floor mat including an elastomeric mat and an emblem with a base and a shell. The base has a portion supporting the shell and a peripheral flange portion surrounding the supporting portion and forming a hidden portion within the floor mat and having apertures. The shell overlays the supporting portion and forms a visible portion of the emblem on only one side of the floor mat. The apertures are essentially filled with elastomer to fix the emblem into the desired location on the floor mat. Also, the emblem and a method for making a floor mat.
All-weather floor mat with connecting liner interlocking feature
A removable protective floor liner for a rearward seating area of a passenger compartment of a vehicle includes a first floor mat section including a first flap section that is configured for installation in a first foot well of the passenger compartment and a second floor mat section including a second flap section that is configured for installation in a second foot well of the passenger compartment. The first flap includes an overlapping portion and a plurality of female interlocking fasteners and the second flap includes an underlapping portion and a plurality of male interlocking fasteners, including the underlapping portion extending a predetermined distance beyond the male interlocking fasteners. The first and second flaps cover a tunnel area intervening between the first and second floor mat sections. The male interlocking fasteners are joined with corresponding ones of the female interlocking fasteners when the first and second flaps are aligned.
Retainer removal tool
A retainer removal tool for a carpet retainer of a vehicle includes a shaft portion and a handle portion. The shaft portion has a cylindrical shape and includes an engagement tip has a hollow cylindrical shape and is configured to depress a tab of the retainer in a radially inward direction to decouple an upper retainer from a lower retainer. Further, a method for removing a carpet retainer of a vehicle includes centering a retainer removal tool over the retainer, depressing the retainer removal tool onto the retainer, disengaging a tab of the retainer with the retainer removal tool, and removing the retainer from the carpet.
