An objective of the present invention is to provide users with a kayak transporting apparatus to assist the users in the transportation of a kayak with minimum effort and strain to the users' body. The present invention provides a kayak carrier for a vehicle that can be adjusted to fit various sizes and shapes of kayak. The present invention is a low-profile apparatus compared to other kayak transporting apparatuses. The kayak transporting apparatus is also intended to be easily stored away as the kayak transporting apparatus is light-weight and the components of the apparatus are detachable from each other. Further, the present invention is a hitch attachment for the rear of a vehicle which facilitates the backing of a vehicle compared to a trailer ball attachment of other kayak transporting apparatuses. Thus, the present invention is a light weight, compact, versatile apparatus for transporting kayaks efficiently.

A transporting device for launching and hauling boats is provided. The device includes a frame arranged to support a boat hull and is provided with at least two pairs of wheels. Each pair of wheels is formed by two wheels aligned with each other on opposite sides of the frame, and the frame is further provided with one or more tracks. The device is capable of easily and effectively moving both on roads and other hard terrains, and on soft terrains, such as for instance sandy or muddy terrains. According to an embodiment, the wheels and the tracks are mounted on the frame so as to be movable in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the frame itself so that they can be selectively brought into contact with the underlying ground or moved away from ground depending on the kind of terrain on which the device is moving.

A composite boat trailer for use in saltwater. The beams, bolts, hangers, fenders, guide poles, suspension, and bunks of the trailer are formed from a composite material that cannot rust or corrode. The trailer employs a manufacturing technique that reinforces all beams to distribute forces anticipated during the movement of a boat on the trailer at highway speeds.

A method for storing a watercraft above a surface portion is disclosed. The method includes permanently attaching a first base member to the surface portion at a first location, permanently attaching a second base member to the surface portion at a second location that is spaced at a distance from the first location, removably attaching a first support assembly to the first base member, and removably attaching a second support assembly to the second base member. The distance is less than a length of the watercraft.

A tie down locking mechanism includes a first plate including a first cavity and a first aperture, a second plate including a second cavity and a second aperture, and a spring mechanism that biases the first and second plates into a first position and that moves the first and second plates into a second position when the bias is overcome with an application of force. Each cavity includes an interior portion connected to an opening on a perimeter of the respective plate. When the first and second plates are in the first position, the openings of the first and second cavities are aligned and the apertures are not aligned. When the first and second plates are in the second position, the openings of the first and second cavities are not aligned and the apertures are aligned.

A system for supporting a motor of a boat with respect to a boat trailer is provided. The system includes a longitudinally extendable support shaft that is configured to be secured in a selected one of a plurality of extended positions, a motor support disposed at a first end of the support shaft; and a boat trailer connector disposed at a second end of the support shaft. The trailer connector includes a releasable latch to connect the trailer connector to the boat trailer. The trailer connector includes a manually engageable actuator configured to selectively latch or release the trailer connector from the boat trailer.

An illuminating bow roller assembly to facilitate loading a watercraft onto a trailer under dark conditions is disclosed. Example components of the assembly include a pair of end bells, a roller, and a yoke into one or more of which lighting elements are recessed into, and a fastening assembly to connect the components to form the assembly. Generally, the lighting elements are arranged such that light therefrom is emitted toward one or more of the end bells and roller. The end bells and roller are composed of a translucent material that propagates light emitted from the lighting elements, which extends illumination to areas surrounding the bow roller assembly in addition to the bow roller assembly itself. A water-activated switch can be implemented to control the illumination of the assembly such that the lighting elements only emit light when the trailer is contacting water.

A rack suitable for loading a kayak or other small watercraft onto and off of the bed of a pickup truck, trailer or other vehicle, and into and out of a body of water. The rack has two ladder-like structures, each having two sides, two or more ribs connecting the two sides, and two pipes mounted on the ribs and running lengthwise. Two extension tubes are mountable parallel to each other to extend the two pipes away from the rack. Other features that may be part of a rack system include a winch, tie-downs, extension rods with pulleys, padded braces, support rods which may have rollers, and the like.

A trailer bunk board recarpeting template includes a first section, a second section, a midsection, a first leg extending from the first section, a second leg extending from the second section, a male member, and at least two female slits configured to removably receive the male member to enable adjustment of the first section with respect to the second section. The first and second leg form a space having a width defined by the distance therebetween. The female slits positions on the template corresponds to bunk boards of varying widths. Accordingly, the slits position affects the width of the space when the male member is engaged with the slits, thereby allowing the space to be selectively adjusted to accommodate bunk boards of varying widths. The space identifies areas on a carpet to mark and cut to fit a bunk board of a particular size.

A boat loading guide system for use on a boat trailer and particularly for pontoon boats and the like. The boat loading guide is highly visible during loading, comprising two guide posts visible throughout the loading process. When not in use, or when towing the trailer, the guide posts are stowed such that the trailer and guide posts do not exceed a pre-determined width, and thus the trailer will be able to be operated legally on public roadways. The guide posts can be of sufficient length so that even when the rear portion of the trailer is well submerged, the guide posts will extend above the surface of the water and be visible to the operator.
