A method of operating an autonomous vehicle includes determining, by the autonomous vehicle, whether a target is in an intended maneuver zone around the autonomous vehicle; generating, by the autonomous vehicle, a signal in response to determining that the target is within the intended maneuver zone around the autonomous vehicle; determining, by the autonomous vehicle and based on perception information acquired by the autonomous vehicle, whether the target has left the intended maneuver zone around the autonomous vehicle; and determining, by the autonomous vehicle, that it is safe to perform the intended maneuver in response to determining, by the autonomous vehicle, that the target is not in the intended maneuver zone or in response to determining, by the autonomous vehicle, that the target has left the intended maneuver zone.
METHOD FOR OPERATING AN ASSISTANCE SYSTEM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
The present disclosure relates to a method for operating an assistance system of a motor vehicle, wherein the assistance system has a projector. A message relating to a wrong-way driver is received, and a position of the wrong-way driver transmitted with the message is compared with a current position. Depending on the comparison, a recommendation for adapting a driving parameter is projected into an area in front of the motor vehicle for the driver by means of the projector. A vehicular trailer hitching assist system includes a rear backup camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and a control disposed in the vehicle. A display device includes a video display screen operable to display video images for viewing by a driver of the vehicle. During a hitching maneuver event undertaken by the driver to hitch a trailer hitch of the vehicle to a trailer tongue of a trailer, and while the driver of the vehicle is maneuvering the vehicle to hitch the vehicle to the trailer, the control outputs video images derived from image data captured by the rear backup camera for display by the video display screen. At least one overlay overlays the displayed video images to guide the driver during the hitching maneuver. The at least one overlay aids in guiding connection of the trailer hitch of the vehicle to the trailer tongue of the trailer.

Provided is a notification control apparatus for a vehicle configured to determine, based on surrounding information and an operation state of an operation unit, whether there exists a possibility that an own vehicle turns toward a specific direction while an oncoming vehicle is approaching, to determine, when affirmative determination is made, based on vehicle information including at least one of a steering input value or presence/absence of a brake operation and a vehicle speed, whether a possibility that the own vehicle completes crossing of an opposing lane or an intersection after elapse of a reference period is high, and when affirmative determination is made, to execute the notification control when a virtual passing period required for the own vehicle to virtually pass the oncoming vehicle is a lower limit period or longer and an upper limit period or shorter, the upper limit period being the reference period or shorter.
Intelligent electronic footwear and logic for navigation assistance by automated tactile, audio, and visual feedback
Presented are intelligent electronic footwear and apparel with controller-automated features, methods for making/operating such footwear and apparel, and control systems for executing automated features of such footwear and apparel. A method for operating an intelligent electronic shoe (IES) includes receiving, e.g., via a controller through a wireless communications device from a GPS satellite service, location data of a user. The controller also receives, e.g., from a backend server-class computer or other remote computing node, location data for a target object or site, such as a virtual shoe hidden at a virtual spot. The controller retrieves or predicts path plan data including a derived route for traversing from the user's location to the target's location within a geographic area. The controller then transmits command signals to a navigation alert system mounted to the IES's shoe structure to output visual, audio, and/or tactile cues that guide the user along the derived route.
OBSTACLE DETECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF VEHICLE
Disclosed is an obstacle detection system of a vehicle. The obstacle detection system includes a driving information unit configured to calculate driving position information of the vehicle, a determiner configured to anticipate whether or not the vehicle will enter a joining point where the vehicle meets a target road to be joined based on the driving position information calculated by the driving information unit, a sensing unit configured to sense obstacles located beside the vehicle, and a controller configured to change a sensing range of the sensing unit so as to detect an obstacle moving on the target road to be joined, when the determiner anticipates that the vehicle will enter the joining point.
VEHICLE INTERFACE DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a vehicle interface device configured to output a haptic signal to indicate a potential hazard. The apparatus includes at least one haptic generator configured to generate a haptic signal; and a processor for controlling the haptic generator. The processor is configured to determine an angular position of the identified object relative to the vehicle in dependence on object data relating to an identified object representing a potential hazard. A control signal is generated to cause the haptic generator to output a haptic signal for providing an indication of the determined relative position of the identified object. The control signal is modified to progressively change the generated haptic signal to represent changes in the relative angular position of the identified object. The present disclosure also relates to a vehicle incorporating a vehicle interface device.
