Pin and grommet fastener accommodating two directional offset and related methods
An inner housing defines a pin retaining receptacle elongated in an X-direction with entry ramps extending parallel to the X-direction. The inner housing is slidably coupled to an outer housing and extends into an interior thereof. The pair of inner housing retaining surfaces can engage the pair of cooperating inner housing retaining surfaces, with the pin retaining receptacle of the inner housing extending into the interior of the outer housing, to slidably couple the inner housing and the outer housing together while permitting movement of the inner housing relative to the outer housing in a Y-direction in response to the inner housing moving in the Y-direction during insertion of the pin into the pin retaining receptacle. Associated methods are also disclosed.
Fastener and a part having the same
A fastener includes a head configured to be anchored to a part, and a locking member extending from the head to a distal end. The locking member has at least one protrusion spaced from the head, and a tool engaging head at the distal end. In use, the locking member extends through an opening of a panel such that the head is retained on a first side of the panel, the distal end is disposed on a second side of the panel, and the at least one protrusion abuts the second side of the panel to secure the panel to the fastener. The fastener includes a resiliently deformable portion arranged such that rotation of the tool engaging head deforms the resiliently deformable portion and moves the at least one protrusion out of abutment with the second side of the panel to release the panel from the fastener.
Pin and grommet fastener accommodating two directional offset and related methods
An inner housing defines a pin retaining receptacle elongated in an X-direction with entry ramps extending parallel to the X-direction. The inner housing is slidably coupled to an outer housing and extends into an interior thereof. Centering protrusions of one housing can engage the other housing to initially retain the pin retaining receptacle of the inner housing in a central position within the interior of the outer housing in the Y-direction prior to insertion of the pin into the pin retaining receptacle. The other housing can be movable against the centering protrusion to permit the pin retaining receptacle of the inner housing to move out of the central position in the Y-direction in response to engagement of the pin against the entry ramps during insertion of the pin into the pin retaining receptacle.
Combination interior trim and reinforcement for exterior resin pane
Anchor brackets/tethers may be used to reinforce a vehicle's resin rear door without substantially increasing the mass of the resin rear door. Such anchor brackets hold an interior trim panel(s) in place, and keep the interior trim panel(s) connected to the door structure or portion(s) thereof. The interior trim panel(s) can act as a protective interior shield that eliminates any exposure of the interior cabin/passenger compartment from any outer (and/or interior) door panel cracks/gaps that may be created during an adverse event. Moreover, conventional interior trim panels may, during a collision, break apart, the broken pieces becoming potentially dangerous projectiles. By being attached to the door structure and/or door componentry, the chance that the interior trim panel (or portions thereof) becoming a projectile is negated or at least lessened.
Fastener assembly
A fastener assembly includes a head unit, a fastening part allowing a lower end of the head unit to be coupled thereto, and a fixing part allowing an upper end of the head unit to be inserted thereinto. The head unit includes a head part inserted into an insertion hole of the fixing part, and a guide part configured to be inserted into a longitudinal hole formed in the fastening part and to be in contact with a rear surface of the fastening part, the guide part being configured to be inserted into the longitudinal hole and be rotated such that the head unit is coupled to the fastening part.
SASH COVER ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE
A sash cover assembly for a vehicle includes a sash cover and a spacer cap. The sash cover includes a projection configured to be received by a sash of the vehicle. The spacer cap is connected to and surrounds the projection. The spacer cap is configured to prevent contact between the projection and the sash when the sash cover is connected to the sash.
Tolerance compensator
Disclosed is a tolerance compensator for joining materials that are spaced apart from one another. The tolerance compensator includes a base, a compensation member, a first flange portion, a first tree fastener, a second flange portion, and a second tree fastener. The compensation member is slidably engaged with the base and disposed at least partially within a cavity defined by the base. The first flange portion and the second flange portion are coupled to the base and extend radially outwardly from the base. The first tree fastener extends away from the first flange portion. The second tree fastener extends away from the second flange portion. Each of the first tree fastener and the second tree fastener include a body and a plurality of ribs extending outwardly therefrom.
Method for fixing a glass interior trim element into a motor vehicle
Method for fixing a glass interior trim element into a motor vehicle. The invention relates to method for fixing a glass trim element into a motor vehicle's interior characterized in that the method comprises a step of fixation of the glass element to a support to provide an assembly that is integrated to motor vehicle's interior body.
Universal mounting tabs and kits for automotive components
Mounting tabs, kits and methods of using the mounting tabs where none previously existed or for replacing/repairing broken mounting tabs are disclosed. For example, the mounting tabs, kits and methods disclosed herein are well suited for the repair of high value components, including automotive components.
VEHICULAR INTERIOR COMPONENT
A vehicular interior component to be mounted on a vehicular metal member includes a wall member and a skin disposed on a portion of the wall member. The wall member includes a wall body portion having a plate shape and a mounting portion that extends from the wall body portion and along the vehicular metal member and is to be fixed to the vehicular metal member. The skin includes an electricity removal surface layer having static dissipative properties on a surface of the skin facing a vehicular exterior side. The skin includes a skin body portion that covers the wall body portion and a skin extended portion that extends from the skin body portion and covers a portion of the mounting portion. The electricity removal surface layer of the skin extended portion is to be directly contacted with the vehicular metal member.
