CONSOLE ASSEMBLIES HAVING SUPPORT STRUCTURES WITH SIDE IMPACT REINFORCEMENTS
A support structure that supports a console housing of a console assembly is provided. The support structure is secured to a floor of a vehicle. The support structure includes a pair of side walls and a platform wall. Each side wall has an upper edge, an opposite lower edge, an interior surface, and an opposite exterior surface. The platform wall traverses the interior surfaces of the pair of side walls between the upper edge and the lower edge of each of the pair of side walls. The console housing is mounted to the platform wall between and below the upper edges of the pair of side walls.
VEHICLE INTERIOR PANEL HAVING A DOCKING STATION FOR A MOBILE DEVICE
A vehicle interior panel includes an in-vehicle support substrate and a docking station for a mobile device. The docking station includes a top edge, a bottom wall, and a reception surface for the mobile device between the top edge and the bottom wall. The reception surface is pivotably attached with respect to the support substrate. A first portion of the bottom wall is configured to hold the mobile device, and a second portion of the bottom wall is configured to remain recessed within the support substrate when the docking station is in a tilted position. This structure for a docking station helps improve within vehicle integration.

A module trim element having a body defining an upper bearing surface, at least one first covering element defining a first upper bearing surface, mounted rotating about a first axis of rotation between a retracted position and at least one deployed position, and at least one second covering element defining a second upper bearing surface and mounted rotating about a second axis of rotation between a retracted position and at least one deployed position. The first axis of rotation and the second axis of rotation are substantially parallel and extend at different heights relative to the body, with at least one of the upper bearing surfaces being a flexible surface and at least another one of the upper bearing surfaces being a rigid surface.

A console assembly having a hood and a shroud. The hood has one or more base mounting points configured for installation to a vehicle body structure, and one or more accessory mounting points spaced from and rigidly connected to the one or more base mounting points. The shroud defines an enclosed volume, and is configured to install over the hood, with the one or more base mounting points contained within the enclosed volume, and the one or more accessory mounting points located outside the enclosed volume. When the hood is attached to the vehicle body structure and the shroud is installed over the hood, the hood is configured to convey respective loads applied to the one or more accessory mounting points to the one or more base mounting points independently of the shroud. A hood assembly and a method for installing a console assembly are also provided.
