A headliner system includes a plurality of segments connected together and outlining a central opening and a central section received in the central opening. The central section is selected from a group of central sections consisting of a multisection panel incorporating an overhead airbag grid system, a panel incorporating a fold down display panel and a panel incorporating a pull down divider.

Resin molded article, molding device, and molding method

An instrument panel unit (2) includes an instrument panel (3) and a decorative sheet (4). The instrument panel (3) includes a sticking portion (3a) and an exposed portion (3b). A plurality of insertion grooves 3c and insertion holes 3d are formed alternately at an end on a rear side of the sticking portion (3a), into which bent pieces (4a) formed at a rear end of the decorative sheet (4) are inserted. A groove front-surface (3g) forming the insertion groove (3c) of the instrument panel (3) is formed in a tapered shape such that a width between the groove front-surface and an opposing groove rear-surface (3h) gradually increases upwardly. The bent piece (4a) is formed to be thinner than the groove width at the upper part serving as the entrance part of the insertion groove (3c) and to be thicker than the groove width of a groove bottom-surface (3i).

INTERIOR MEMBER FOR VEHICLE

This interior member for a vehicle is configured by causing an upper trim and a lower trim, which are vertically divided in two parts, to abut each other, a concave section having a bottom surface portion that is planar and inclined downward on an inner side in a vehicle width direction is formed in at least a part of the lower trim, and a tag is clamped by the bottom surface portion of the concave section and the upper trim.

COVER GLASS SHEET WITH DIFFERENTIAL TEXTURING

A cover glass sheet configured to cover at least a display device, having an outer sheet face and an inner sheet face where the inner sheet face faces the display device and wherein the outer sheet face includes (a) at least a display zone (1) allowing visualization of at least part of a screen of the display device, the display zone having a perimeter, P.sub.display; and (b) at least an opaque zone (2) corresponding to a layer of opaque paint being added at the exception of the display zone, to all or part of the remaining inner sheet face and directly surrounding at least 10-100% of the display perimeter, the opaque zone has a mean surface roughness defined by an opaque arithmetic amplitude value, Ra.sub.(op). The outer sheet face further includes at least one textured zone covering between 0.5% to 99.5% of the opaque zone.

ANTIMICROBIAL METALLIC TOUCH SURFACES AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME

An antimicrobial interior component for a vehicle includes an interior component body having a contoured surface. The interior component also includes an antimicrobial jacket assembly having a first piece and a second piece coupled together and disposed over the contoured surface. The antimicrobial jacket assembly defines at least one touch surface disposed over the contoured surface of the interior component body. The first piece and the second piece each includes an antimicrobial metal material configured to prevent or minimize microbes from accumulating on the at least one touch surface.

Decorative component

A decorative component for an interior space of a motor vehicle includes a display panel configured to cover a display element and/or constituting a display element. The decorative component further includes a decorative element, adjoining the display panel, configured to provide a visually and haptically perceptible decorative surface. The haptic and/or visual perception of the decorative surface is different than the haptic and/or visual perception of a panel surface of the display panel. The display panel overlaps the decorative element in an overlapping region and a material thickness of the display panel is designed such that it becomes monotonously thinner toward the decorative element in the overlapping region.

Automobile door trim

There is provided a door trim including: an armrest; an ornament member coupled to the armrest; and a planar heater configured to warm the armrest or the ornament member. The planar heater is disposed between a resin core member and a surface member which form the armrest or the ornament member, and includes a nonwoven fabric and a heating wire fixed to the nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric includes first and second bonded parts and a connection part connecting between the first and second bonded parts. The second bonded part is routed to be disposed on the back surface side of the armrest (the back surface side of the ornament member) by the connection part being inserted into an interface gap between the armrest and the ornament member. A thermostat is mounted on the second bonded part.

A vehicle headliner includes a two-piece headliner body made up of first and second headliner pieces that are secured together in a mechanical joint. Each of the first and second headliner pieces is comprised of a molded polymer substrate having first and second sides and a fabric on the first side. The molded polymer substrate is partially impregnated into the fabric such that the fabric is fused to the first side. The first piece defines an opening for receipt of a console. There is at least one bridge that spans across the opening and has a molded-in attachment feature for securing the console.

Body molding and method of applying an accent strip to a body molding

An elongate base structure for receiving an accent strip for a vehicle molding. The elongate base structure has top and bottom grooves defined in an outward facing surface, and a middle base portion with at least one adhesive region for receiving an adhesive, such as adhesive tape. At least one slot is defined in one of the top or bottom grooves adjacent to and extending along the at least one adhesive region in order to allow the liner of the adhesive tape to be removed through the slot after the accent strip has been positioned in the base structure. An aperture is defined in the middle base portion, between the top and bottom grooves, for use by an assembler to support and position the accent strip in the base structure. The base structure may define an opening at each end to receive and conceal the ends of the accent strip.
