ROLLOVER DEVICE FOR A PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, METHOD OF PRODUCTION THEREOF AND MOTOR VEHICLE
A rollover device for a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle includes a plurality of struts made of fiber-reinforced plastic, and a plurality of fastening feet made of metallic material for connecting the rollover device to a vehicle body. At least one fastening foot made of metallic material is connected to a respective strut made of fiber-reinforced plastic via a material-locking connection on the one hand and via a form-locking connection on the other hand.
ADJUSTABLE SAFETY CELL
An adjustable safety cell for adjusting the size of a deformation zone of a vehicle includes a vehicle reinforcement frame; a movable reinforcement member arranged to reinforce at least a portion of said vehicle reinforcement frame; wherein said reinforcement member is arranged to move between a first position and a second position, wherein in said first position, a first portion of said vehicle reinforcement frame is reinforced, and wherein in said second position, a second portion of said vehicle reinforcement frame is reinforced.
VEHICLE HAVING A PIVOTABLE ROOF
A vehicle includes: a frame including a roll cage, a motor connected to the frame, a driver seat connected to the frame, and a roof extending at least in part above the driver seat. The roof includes an upper surface and a lower surface. At least part of the roof is pivotably connected to the roll cage about a roof pivot axis so that the at least part of the roof is pivotable from a closed position to an open position. In the closed position, the at least part of the roof covers a roof opening defined by the roll cage, and in the open position, the at least part of the roof at least partly exposes the roof opening.
Roll cage joining apparatus and method
A roll cage is formed by joining tubes using an intermediate member with shoulder portions that insert within the tubes. Two inserts secure within the tubes, at least one being threaded. A threaded bolt is inserted through a first insert, through the intermediate member, and threaded into the second insert. Other tubes secure to the intermediate member such that the tubes together form a roll cage that may be secured to the chassis of a vehicle. For multi-row vehicles, a third insert secures in the second tube and has a threaded shaft protruding from it. The threaded shaft is passed through a second intermediate member and threaded into a threaded insert in a third tube and the second tube is rotated.
PERSONAL WHEELCHAIR MOTORIZED VEHICLE SYSTEM
A motor vehicle for independent use by an individual in a wheelchair, comprising an open air vehicle body including a floor further comprising a front, a rear, and lateral sides, said floor sized and shaped to receive and retain a wheelchair; a motor; at least one front and at least one rear wheel supporting said vehicle body and floor, each of said front and rear wheels attached rotatably near an underside of a corner of the vehicle body; at least one actuator attaching said floor to said at least one rear wheel, wherein said floor can be lowered to a ground surface and raised to a level floor position; wherein a rear portion of said floor is structured to fold upward to form said rear side and fold downward to be in line with said floor; and a steering control assembly coupled to said at least one front wheel.
Automobile system for determination and protection against external crash hazards
A smart car system that determines when danger from another vehicle is likely, and addresses that danger. An embodiment signals the other car using open air communication. Another embodiment starts the deployment of anti-crash structure, e.g, airbag or an anti crash fencing.
ROLL CAGE
The invention relates to a roll cage for a motor vehicle that has Isofix attachment points in the rear section of the motor vehicle interior, wherein the roll cage is formed by a rollbar that has at least four mounting points for securing and supporting the rollbar in the motor vehicle, two of which mounting points form two first mounting points in the form of clamp elements that clamp onto at least two Isofix attachment points, and the other two of which form two support elements, which support the rollbar in the passenger compartment, in particular on its floor. Such a roll cage can be installed quickly, and does not require approval.
Post for a cab of a vehicle
A post for a cab of a vehicle includes an elongated tubular element presenting a tubular element cavity extending longitudinally within the post and an elongated reinforcement element extending in the longitudinal direction of the tubular element along a part of the tubular element, and including a base end and a free end. A tapered portion of the reinforcement element includes the free end thereof being located in the tubular element cavity and tapered in the direction from the base end towards the free end. A base portion of the reinforcement element is at least partly located in the tubular element cavity and extends from the tapered portion to the base end. The reinforcement element presents a smooth transition between the tapered portion and the base portion.
