A trim assembly for deploying an airbag element, a vehicle including such a trim assembly and a method for manufacturing such a trim assembly. The trim unit includes a vehicle body portion, a trim unit and at least one fixing element. The fixing element is configured to attach the trim unit to the vehicle body portion. The airbag element is arranged between the trim unit and the vehicle body portion. The trim unit is configured to cover at least partially the airbag element. The trim unit is pivotable about the fixing element such that the trim unit is tilted away from the vehicle body portion during a deployment of the airbag element.

An occupant protection device of the present embodiment includes a lower panel and an airbag device disposed on a front side of a lower end portion of the lower panel with a gap. The airbag device includes an airbag that is deployed and inflated so as to rise from a lower side of the lower end portion of the lower panel to the side of a back surface, as a design surface, of the lower panel to protect the knee of the occupant when inflation gas flows in, and a blocking member that rotates backward and blocks the gap when the airbag is inflated. A contact surface portion which is contact with the blocking member that rotates backward is formed on the lower end portion of the lower panel. The contact surface is formed on the lower side of a flange portion that extends forward from a bent portion.

Disclosed herein is a hard cover for a side airbag. The hard cover includes a housing accommodating a cushion, a cover unit covering an opening of the housing and having a cut part formed to be cut when the cushion is deployed, a hinge connecting the cover unit and a rear of the housing, a first restraint unit provided on a front of the housing, a first hook unit provided on a front of the cover unit to be caught and restrained by the first restraint unit, a second restraint unit provided on each of upper and lower sides of the housing, and a second hook unit provided on each of upper and lower sides of the cover unit to be caught and restrained by the second restraint unit and separated from the second restraint unit when the cushion is deployed.

A rear seat side airbag device that includes: an inflator that generates gas in the event of a vehicle collision; and a side airbag that is supplied with gas from the inflator from a position in a vehicle cabin side portion that corresponds to a rear seat, and that is inflated and deployed towards a portion on an outer side in a vehicle width direction of a vehicle occupant in a case in which the vehicle occupant is sitting in the rear seat.

A side curtain airbag module comprises an airbag having a plurality of fastening flaps that are configured to be fastened to the body of a vehicle; a ramp to guide deployment of the airbag, the ramp has at least one fastener configured to be fastened to a vehicle body; means for securing the ramp to the airbag by relative movement of airbag and ramp, whereby in a mounting condition of the airbag module the ramp fasteners are at least in part housed by the airbag flaps.

Disclosed herein is a hard cover for a side airbag. The hard cover includes a housing accommodating a cushion, a cover unit covering an opening of the housing and having a cut part formed to be cut when the cushion is deployed, a hinge connecting the cover unit and a rear of the housing, a first restraint unit provided on a front of the housing, a first hook unit provided on a front of the cover unit to be caught and restrained by the first restraint unit, a second restraint unit provided on each of upper and lower sides of the housing, and a second hook unit provided on each of upper and lower sides of the cover unit to be caught and restrained by the second restraint unit and separated from the second restraint unit when the cushion is deployed.

An instrument panel defines an upper surface and a lower surface. An airbag device has an inflatable portion and is installed to the instrument panel below and spaced apart from the lower surface. A panel is installed to the lower surface of the instrument panel above the airbag. The panel has an opening that is at least partially covered by a first door, a second door and a third door located along the lower surface of the instrument panel prior to deployment of the airbag. In response to deployment of the airbag, the inflatable portion pushes the first, second and the third doors upward against the instrument panel with the first door pivoting about a first hinge that extends in a vehicle lateral direction, and at least one of the second door and the third door pivoting about a second hinge that extends in a vehicle longitudinal direction.

A component for a vehicle interior may comprise a panel comprising a structure, and an airbag comprising a cushion for deployment through the panel. The airbag may be directly attached to the structure. The airbag may comprise a set of holes for attachment to the structure. The structure may comprise a set of posts for the set of holes. The structure may comprise an airbag chute. The component may comprise a cover coupled to the structure and an inflator coupled to the cover. The cover may clamp the airbag between the cover and the structure. The airbag may comprise at least one flap coupled between the cover and the structure. The cover may be staked to the structure. The structure may comprise a frame for attachment of the airbag and the cover to the structure. The component may comprise a trim component, instrument panel or door panel.

A rear seat side airbag device that includes: an inflator that generates gas in the event of a vehicle collision; and a side airbag that is supplied with gas from the inflator from a position in a vehicle cabin side portion that corresponds to a rear seat, and that is inflated and deployed towards a portion on an outer side in a vehicle width direction of a vehicle occupant in a case in which the vehicle occupant is sitting in the rear seat.

A display article includes a film formed from a stretchable plastic and including a first plurality of micro-light emitting diodes and a second plurality of micro-light emitting diodes disposed adjacent to the first plurality and embedded in the plastic. The article includes a substrate having a first portion and a second portion, and a tear seam disposed between the first and second portions. The film is attached to the substrate such that the tear seam is located between the first and second pluralities. A component includes the display article and an airbag disposed adjacent the substrate and configured for transitioning between a stowed position in which the airbag does not extend through the substrate, and a deployed position in which the airbag extends through the substrate and the film. The first and second portions are separated at the tear seam when the airbag is disposed in the deployed position.
