TETHER CLIP, PILLAR STRUCTURE PROVIDED WITH THE SAME, AND ASSEMBLY METHOD THEREOF
A tether clip includes: a clip body including a panel anchor part and a trim anchor portion, a head anchor part capable of being combined with the trim anchor portion, and a tether connecting the clip body and the head anchor part.
AIRBAG MODULE
The configuration of an airbag module according to the present invention includes an airbag cushion, an inflator equipped in this airbag cushion, and housing for stowing this airbag cushion, wherein the housing has a convex polygonal shape in cross-section and has an opening on the upper side, and when the airbag cushion expands and deploys, a first pair of mutually opposed side surfaces expand separating from each other, the airbag module further comprises a cover covering the opening and side surfaces of the housing, and of the cover, the upper surface portion that covers the opening of the housing is formed with a first weak portion that extends in the longitudinal direction of the upper surface portion, is weaker than the area surrounding thereof, and is cleaved by the separation of the first pair of side surfaces.
AIRBAG WITH REINFORCED TETHER
An apparatus for helping to protect an occupant of a seat in a vehicle having an instrument panel and a housing positioned therein includes an airbag for positioning in the housing and defining an inflatable volume for receiving inflation fluid from an inflator. The airbag includes an occupant-facing panel. A tether extends along a centerline and has a first end connected to a portion of the airbag positioned within the housing and a second end connected to the occupant-facing panel for forming a pocket therein. The second end includes a folded-over portion. Stitching extends through the folded-over portion in a direction extending transverse to the centerline.
Driver side airbag module
A vehicle steering system including a yoke type steering wheel. An airbag module located in the steering wheel and including an inflator and an airbag. The airbag is configured to inflate into two configurations. In the first configuration the airbag is fully inflated into a circular configuration and in the second configuration the airbag inflates into a u-shaped configuration. The u-shaped configuration is formed by a tether connected at a first end to the airbag and at a second end to a tether release device. The tether release device is configured to stay connected to the tether when the driver is determined to be in an out of position (OOP) condition.
AIRBAG COVER
A vehicle comprising: an airbag device comprising a housing and an airbag, the airbag having a packed configuration and an expanded configuration, the airbag expanding through the aperture in the housing when moving from the packed configuration to the expanded configuration; a composite material panel positioned to cover the airbag device, the panel comprising a break line running over the panel, the break line being proximal to the aperture so that when the airbag moves to the expanded configuration the airbag forces the panel to tear along the break line; and a first protection flap, the first protection flap having an initial configuration where the first protection flap is located adjacent the airbag in the packed configuration and a deployed configuration where the first protection flap covers at least one edge of the panel that runs along one side of the break line when the panel has torn due to the airbag moving to the expanded configuration.
ONE-PIECE WOVEN OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A method for manufacturing a one-piece woven (OPW) air bag includes method for manufacturing an OPW airbag. The method includes providing yarns, warping the yarns on at least one beam of a loom, and simultaneously weaving yarns into a fabric air bag structure having two layer portions defining an inflatable volume and single layer portions forming seams delimiting the inflatable volume. A plurality of the yarns overlay one another to form nonwoven alignment elements in at least one of the single layer portions. The air bag structure is cut to define the OPW air bag. The alignment elements are aligned with alignment elements on a panel. The air bag structure is sewn to the panel with the alignment elements aligned with one another.
TETHER CLIP AND PILLAR COUPLING STRUCTURE PROVIDED WITH THE SAME
A tether clip includes a clip body including a panel anchor part and a trim anchor portion connected to the panel anchor part. The clip body has a moving space therein and a trim trigger in the trim anchor portion to be deformable in the moving space direction. The tether clip has a head anchor part with a head hook thereon, a tether connecting the clip body and the head anchor part, and a coupling pin. The coupling pin is inserted into the moving space and includes an inclined slope configured to contact the trim trigger and move the coupling pin toward the panel anchor portion when the trim trigger is deformed inside.
AIRBAG MODULE
A representative configuration of an airbag module including a folded or rolled airbag cushion, an inflator provided in the airbag cushion, and a case type housing for stowing the airbag cushion, wherein the housing is rectangular shaped in cross-sectional view and includes a first member forming at least one side wall of the rectangular shape, a second member that forms the remaining two or more side walls of the rectangular shape, and a rotational shaft connecting the first member and the second member enabling mutual relative rotation, and upon expansion and deployment of the airbag cushion, one of either the first member or second member rotates relative to the other around the rotational shaft causing the opening of an upper part of the case type housing to open up.
A tether has a first end connected to the occupant-facing panel for forming a pocket therein and a second end connected to a portion of the airbag positioned within the housing. The second end includes a folded-over portion. First stitching extends through the folded-over portion in a direction extending transverse to a centerline of the tether. Second stitching extends through the folded-over portion and parallel to the first stitching. The first and second stitchings are spaced a predetermined length from one another.
