Pregnancy seat belt or safety harness
A pregnancy seat belt that secures an expectant mother and her unborn baby due to the absence of a lap belt traversing the expectant mother's abdomen. The expectant mother is secured instead by a center belt and/or thigh-belts that secure the mother at her thighs and avoid traverse of her abdomen.
Head and neck restraining system
A head and neck restraining system includes a helmet, a neck brace structure, and a tether system. The neck brace structure includes a neck extension that is attached to shoulder extensions. The tether system includes at least one ring structure that is configured to attach to the helmet and a single tether material that slides through the at least one ring. The single tether material is guided along the neck extension and attached to the shoulder extensions. The at least one ring structure is positioned between the neck and shoulder extensions along the single tether material and splits the load on the helmet to the neck extension and the shoulder extension along to the single tether material created by exerted forces.
HEAD RESTRAINT APPARATUS WITH EXPANDABLE SEAT SECURING MECHANISMS
An accessory device for use in conjunction with seats on airplanes, trains, buses, cars, or other moving vehicles that gently restrains a person's forehead to prevent his or her head from bobbing when he or she falls asleep in their seat. The device may have a head retention piece, which may also serve as a sleep mask, in addition to various configurations for securing the head retention piece to seats or the headrest portions of seats having various dimensions. In one embodiment, a base portion is secured to the seat and the head restraint piece secured to the base.
MOTOR VEHICLE SEATBELT RESTRAINT ARRANGEMENT
A motor vehicle seatbelt restraint arrangement including a continuous seatbelt. When the occupant is seated the seatbelt buckle tongue is drawable across the body to engage the buckle providing firstly a pre-impact configuration of the seatbelt characterised by a lap belt portion resting on the hips or upper legs of the occupant, wherein the lap belt portion is rearward vertically offset relative to an underside belt portion of the continuous seatbelt across the seating surface of the seat, and secondly an impact configuration of the seatbelt characterised by the lap belt portion and the underside belt portion being less rearward vertically offset and substantially vertically aligned one with respect to the other to provide a more vertically aligned loop of the continuous seatbelt around the hips or upper legs of the occupant at impact preventing submarining of the occupant out from the motor vehicle seat during impact.
Vehicle occupant restraint device
A vehicle occupant restraint device includes: a seat cushion on which an occupant is seated; a seat back that is provided on a seat rear side of the seat cushion so as to be pivotable in a seat front-rear direction and that supports a back of the occupant; an ottoman provided on a seat front side of the seat cushion so as to be pivotable in a seat up-down direction; and a fabric restraint member that is extended in a width direction of the ottoman to restrain a lower limb including a knee of the occupant when at least the ottoman is set in a raised position and the seat back takes a comfortable posture.
Head and neck support and protection device
A head and neck support and protection device includes an arm that is pivotably mounted, at a first end, to a support and has at a second end a slidably-mounted element connected to a helmet clip. The helmet clip engages a helmet pin. A resistance block transfers energy into a vehicle chassis when the arm hits the resistance block. The slidably-mounted element slides out of the arm, in a controlled manner, when conditions indicating a crash have been met.
Supplemental restraint harness
According to the present invention there is provided a supplemental restraint harness for cooperating with a seat belt of a vehicle, the supplemental restraint harness comprising, an upper portion which is configured to be worn on the torso of a wearer, wherein the upper portion comprises a first strap which, when the harness is worn, extends along a front of the wearer's torso, over a first shoulder of the wearer, and along a back of the wearer's torso, and a second strap which, when the harness is worn, extends along a front of the wearer's torso, over a second shoulder of the wearer, and along a back of the wearer's torso; and a lower portion, comprising a third strap which can be arranged to form a first loop which can receive a first leg of the wearer, and a fourth strap which can be arranged to form a second loop which can receive a second leg of the wearer; and wherein the upper position and lower portion are connected to one another; and wherein the harness further comprises at least one connector which is suitable for connecting to a seat belt of a vehicle. There is further provided a seat belt assembly which comprises said supplemental restraint harness.
Head securing assembly
A head securing assembly for supporting a user's head while sleeping and sitting upright in a seat includes a pair of clamps that is each positionable on a top side of a backrest of a seat in a vehicle. Each of the clamps is positioned on opposite sides of a headrest post with respect to each other. A support is coupled to each of the clamps and the support is directed forwardly from the backrest of the seat. A pair of cushions is each slidably coupled to the support and each of the cushions can be positioned on opposite sides of a user's head when the user sits in the seat. In this way the user's head is inhibited from tipping to the left or to the right when the user is sleeping.
Head stabilizer
The head stabilizer includes a suspender having a pair of bracket connectors that couple to a vehicle seat and a downwardly extending vertical positioning rod having a size and shape for select slide-on reception of a lateral support unit. The lateral support unit may be secured in a desired vertical position along the rod through locking engagement with one or more notches therein. The lateral support unit includes a pair of head pads that can be drawn in to provide side-to-side support for the user's head and a headband may couple between the pair of head pads and across the forehead to provide pitch support for the head.
