BELT DEFLECTOR

The invention relates to a belt deflector with a main element (100) that can be attached to the structure of a vehicle, and with a belt support element (200) that is movable relative to the main element (100) and forms a support surface (231) or support edge for a safety belt (20) to be deflected.

According to the invention, the belt deflector comprises an intermediate element (300, 400) that is deformed when the movable belt support element (200) is moved relative to the main element (100), in the direction of the intermediate element (300, 400), and because of this deformation is pressed against the safety belt (20).

BELT TONGUE HAVING A COVER

The invention relates to a belt tongue (1) having a tongue body (3) extending in an insertion direction (2), in which a belt slot (4) for guiding a belt through is formed crosswise to an insertion direction (2), and a blocking element (5), movably arranged in the tongue body (3), wherein the belt is movable through the belt slot (4) in an unloaded pass-through position of the blocking element (5) and the mobility thereof is at least inhibited by means of the blocking element (5) in a loaded position, created by a tensile force introduced into the belt, wherein the belt is deflected by the belt tongue (1) in the fastened state in a loop shape, wherein a cover (6) is provided at least on one side of the tongue body (2) and the cover (6) is arranged having at least one partial section (7) under the belt slot (4), wherein the partial section (7) of the cover (6) arranged under the belt slot (4) directly adjoins the belt slot (4) and covers at least one part of the blocking element (5) located in the pass-through position.

CINCH LOCKING TONGUE FOR A VEHICLE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM

A tongue mechanism for use in an occupant restraint system also having a buckle mechanism and a webbing. The tongue mechanism includes a tongue member configured to selectively engage the buckle mechanism, a body formed over a portion of the tongue member, a slider, and a biasing member configured to laterally bias the slider. The body includes a body contact surface. The slider includes a slider contact surface and is configured to travel along a track between a first free position and a second locking position. When the slider is positioned in the first free position the tongue mechanism is free to slide along the length of the webbing, and when the slider is positioned in the second locking position a portion of the webbing is clamped between the slider contact surface and the body contact surface thereby preventing the tongue mechanism from sliding along the length of the webbing.

Seatbelt assembly

A seatbelt assembly that includes a tongue assembly having a weblock mounted to a tongue selectively securable to a buckle; a webbing extends through the weblock between a torso portion and a lap portion; and with the weblock allowing for the webbing to slide between the torso and lap portions when in an unlocked position and pivoting relative to the tongue when in a locked position to reorient the torso portion extending from the tongue.

Seatbelt assembly

A seatbelt assembly and method of operating a seatbelt includes allowing webbing to slide between a lap portion and a torso portion through an unlocked weblock of a tongue assembly; and upon forces exerted by an occupant on the webbing, the weblock locking the webbing from movement between the lap and torso portions while increasing tension in the lap portion via the tongue assembly.

Seatbelt assembly

A seatbelt assembly and method of operating that includes a tongue assembly having a weblock and a secondary weblock mounted to a tongue selectively securable to a buckle; a webbing extending adjacent to the weblock and secondary weblock between a torso portion and a lap portion; and the weblock and secondary weblock allowing for the webbing to slide between the torso and lap portions when in unlocked positions and pivoting relative to the tongue such that the weblock and secondary weblock prevent the webbing from sliding between lap and torso portions in locked positions.

Belt tongue comprising a torsion bar

A belt tongue (1) having a tongue body (3) extending in an insertion direction (2), a clamping element (4) in the tongue body such that a belt strap (7) guided through a cavity (5) in the tongue body (3) and running through a gap (6) can be moved through the tongue body (3) in an unstressed free-running position and, in a stressed position brought about by a tensile force in the belt strap (7), is clamped on a clamping edge (8) of the cavity (5) by the clamping element (4) that is pivotally mounted in the tongue body (3). A pre-tensioning device exerts a retractive force on the clamping element (4), at least in the stressed position, the force being oriented in the direction of the free-running position of the clamping element (4). The pre-tensioning device is a torsion bar (13) that is non-rotatably secured in the tongue body (3) and non-rotatably connected to the clamping element (4).

Seatbelt assembly

A seatbelt and method of operating a seatbelt that allows webbing to slide between a lap portion and a torso portion through an unlocked weblock of a tongue assembly, and upon forces exerted on the webbing by an occupant, the weblock locking the webbing from movement between the lap and torso portions while flexing to allow for webbing payout in the torso portion.
