LOCKING WEB RETRACTOR WITH CONTROLLABLE LOCK
A locking web retractor includes a spool mounted between side walls of a frame and rotatable in web take-up and pay out directions, and a locking apparatus including a toothed wheel rotatable with the spool, a movable component and a lock pawl. The movable component moves between a locking position in which it forces an engagement end of the lock pawl into engagement with the toothed wheel to prevent the spool from rotating in the web pay out direction, and an unlocking position in which the movable component does not force the engagement end of the lock pawl toward the toothed wheel. The lock pawl defines a counterweight at an opposite end and configured, in the unlocking position of the movable component, to cause the lock pawl to move in a direction which draws the engagement end of the lock pawl away from the toothed wheel.
Sensor for activating a vehicle-sensitive locking mechanism of a belt retractor
The relates to a sensor for activating a vehicle-sensitive locking mechanism of a belt retractor, comprising an inertia body, a bearing supporting the inertia body, a release element which can be moved out of an idle position by movement of the inertia body so as to activate the vehicle occupant restraint system, wherein the inertia body can be pivoted about a stationary point of rotation.
WEBBING WINDING DEVICE
A webbing winding device includes a spool, a sensor lever, a solenoid, and a controller. In a state where the sensor lever is disposed at the first position, the rotation in the drawing-out direction of the spool is enabled, and in a state where the sensor lever is disposed at the second position, the rotation in the drawing-out direction of the spool is locked. When the solenoid is actuated, a part of the sensor lever is attracted and the sensor lever is displaced from the first position to the second position. The controller adjusts the attracting force by which the solenoid attracts a part of the sensor lever. The controller adjusts the attracting force after completion of displacement to the second position of the sensor lever to an attracting force weaker than the attracting force F at the time of completion of displacement to the second position.
WEBBING WINDING DEVICE
A webbing winding device includes a spool, a sensor lever, and a solenoid. In a state where the sensor lever is disposed at the first position, the rotation in the drawing-out direction of the spool is enabled, and in a state where the sensor lever is disposed at the second position, the rotation in the drawing-out direction of the spool is locked. When the solenoid is actuated, the sensor lever is displaced from the first position to the second position. The sensor lever is provided with a thinned groove being deformed when a part of the sensor lever disposed at the second position is pressed toward the first position, the thinned groove allowing displacement toward the first position of the part of the sensor lever.
Seat belt retractor
A seatbelt retractor that includes a locking mechanism to prevent rotation of a spool in an extracting direction, a ratchet gear 7 and a locking gear 30 that integrally rotate with the spool, a clutch 50 that moves a pawl 9 from a rest position to an engaging position with respect to the ratchet gear 7, a clutch biasing member that biases the clutch 50 in a retracting direction and in a extracting direction, and a connecting mechanism to connect the clutch 50 to the locking gear 30. When extraction of the webbing is locked, a direction of biasing to rotate of the clutch 50 is maintained in the extracting direction so that the amount of retraction of the webbing required to release the lock is reduced to achieve quick release of the lock.
SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING ONE OR MORE LOCKING WEB RETRACTORS IN A MOTOR VEHICLE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A system is provided for controlling operation of an electrically controlled and magnetically actuated locking web retractor of an occupant restraint coupled to an occupant seat of a motor vehicle. A control circuit may monitor output signals produced by one or more sensors configured to produce one or more respective sensor output signals indicative of one or more corresponding sensed conditions of the motor vehicle, vehicle seat or occupant restraint, process the output signals produced by the one or more sensors to determine one or more values of the one or more sensed conditions, compare the one or more determined values of the one or more sensed conditions to one or more corresponding threshold or range values, and then provide a control signal, based on the one or more comparisons, to a magnet actuator of the web retractor to cause the web retractor to lock or unlock.
Switchable retractor
A switchable retractor system includes a retractor with a spool. The spool is rotatable in an extension direction for extending a web and in a retraction direction for retracting the web. A first clutch has an engaged state where the first clutch inhibits rotation of the spool in the extension direction and a disengaged state where the first clutch allows rotation of the spool in the extension direction. A release actuator actuates the first clutch into the disengaged state when actuated by a user to allow extension of the web. A second clutch has a locked state where the second clutch inhibits rotation of the spool in the retraction direction and an unlocked state where the second clutch allows rotation of the spool in the retraction direction. A tension actuator actuates the second clutch into the unlocked state when actuated to allow retraction of the web into the retractor.
Wheelchair occupant restraint device
A wheelchair occupant restraint device includes: a wheelchair retractor which is disposed in a vehicle cabin, and around which one end portion of a wheelchair belt member is wound; a wheelchair buckle which is disposed on the opposite side of a securing space for a wheelchair from the wheelchair retractor, and on which a wheelchair tongue plate attached to the other end portion of the wheelchair belt member is able to be mounted; an occupant retractor which is disposed on the opposite side of the securing space from the wheelchair retractor, and around which one end portion of an occupant belt member is wound; and an occupant buckle which is disposed on the opposite side of the securing space from the occupant retractor, and on which an occupant tongue plate attached to the other end portion of the occupant belt member is able to be mounted.
Locking retractor mechanism for a seatbelt system and a method for actuating the same
A seatbelt system comprising a buckle; a spool with a ratchet wheel and webbing that is windable onto or off of the spool as the spool rotates. A control mechanism is operatively engaged with a pawl located proximate the ratchet wheel. When the control mechanism is in a first condition, the pawl is disengaged from the ratchet wheel and the ratchet wheel and spool are rotatable to wind the webbing onto or off of the spool. When the control mechanism is in a second condition, the pawl is moved into engagement with the ratchet wheel and the ratchet wheel and spool are only able to rotate the webbing onto the spool. The control mechanism includes electronic switches and sensors that have to be actuated along with engaging the locking tongue in the buckle in order to move the pawl into engagement with the ratchet wheel.
Support for vehicle seating assembly
A vehicle seating assembly includes a seatback with a frame assembly having first and second portions. A primary structure extends between the first and second portions and defines a seating surface. A secondary structure extends between the first and second portions. A retractor mechanism is disposed on one of the first and second portions and is selectively positionable in an unlocked, a locked, or a pre-tensioned position.
