Vehicle operator authentication operations
11548473 · 2023-01-10 · ·

An apparatus for vehicle operator authentication operations can include multiple memory devices coupled to a processor. The processor can perform an authentication operation using determined driving patterns associated with an authorized operator of a vehicle in which the apparatus is deployed and information received from a global positioning satellite and a base station to determine whether a current operator of the vehicle is the authorized operator of the vehicle and determine whether the vehicle has experienced a vehicle event. The processor can also re-allocate computing resources between the first memory device and the second memory device in response to the determination that the vehicle has experienced the vehicle event and perform, using the re-allocated computing resources, a subsequent authentication operation using the determined driving patterns and the information received from the global positioning satellite and the base station to determine whether the current operator of the vehicle is the authorized operator of the vehicle.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REGULATING VEHICLE ACCESS
20180009414 · 2018-01-11 ·

A method for regulating vehicle access comprises receiving, from an electronic device of a user, a request to access a vehicle. The vehicle can be disposed at a designated geographic location. Next, geographic information of the user is received from the electronic device. The geographic information is determined with the aid of the electronic device of the user. The user is then provided access to the vehicle if, based on the received geographic information, a geographic location of the user is within a given distance from the designated geographic location of the vehicle.

A system and method for vehicle access system for a motor vehicle that has a closure panel for facilitating access to the motor vehicle by a user of the motor vehicle are provided. The system includes two or more sensors for detecting at least one approach characteristic of the user. The system also includes an actuator unit for moving the closure panel. A controller is connected to the two or more sensors and is connected to the actuator unit. The controller is adapted to determine a confidence level representative of an intent of the user approaching the motor vehicle to access the motor vehicle based on the at least one approach characteristic of the user. The controller controls the actuator unit based on the confidence level.

Systematic integration via an intrusion detection device

A vehicle theft-prevention apparatus can include at least one computing device couple to a plurality of sensors and a wireless transceiver. The plurality of sensors can be configured to sense measurements proximate to a vehicle. The at least one computing device can be configured to read a plurality of first measurements of a first sensor of the plurality of sensors. Based on the plurality of first measurements from the first sensor, the at least one computing device can determine that a key fob moved outside of a range of the first sensor. In response to the key fob moving outside of the range of the first sensor, the at least one computing device can transition to an armed state. The at least one computing device can read a plurality of second measurements from a subset of the plurality of sensors. Based on the plurality of second measurements, the at least one computing device can determine that a person has entered the vehicle.

THEFT-DETERRENT SYSTEM FOR CONTAINER VEHICLE

A theft-deterrent assembly for a container vehicle includes a physical barrier that is movable between a closed position that prevents the opening of a discharge port for the product carried in the container, and an open position that allows the opening of the discharge port. A sensor is provided that determines if the physical barrier is in the open position or in the closed position. The sensor is operatively attached to a theft-deterrent controller that is adapted to record the movement of the physical barrier between the open and closed positions upon the occurrence of such movement.
