Heater for Windshield Wiper Park Position
A windshield wiper park position heater employs an area-type heater construction having a flexible substrate supporting a high resistance heater material between electrodes of a lower resistance electrode material. The high length-to-width of the heater element is accommodated through a bus structure that orients current flow along the shortest dimension of the heater and by supplying power at a midpoint of the bus structure to decrease voltage drop over the longest dimension of the heater. A clip structure allows internal conductive layers of laminated connection point between heater components to be simply joined in the crimping operation.
SNOW MELTING APPARATUS
A wiper system includes a wiper blade to wipe a windshield, an angle sensor, and a motor. The motor drives the wiper blade to reverse a wipe operation of the wiper blade at a reversal position based on the angle sensor, such that rotation of the motor when the wiper blade moves to a released position is reversed to rotation of the motor when the wiper blade moves to a standby position. A first heating element is installed near a front pillar and generates heat when energized. A determiner determines whether snow accumulates on a surface of the windshield based on an operation of the wiper system. A controller controls energization of the first heating element and energizes the first heating element on determination of the determiner that snow accumulates on the surface of the windshield.
Windshield and Wiper Blade Deicing System
The present invention relates to a windshield and wiper blade deicing system. The system is designed to use a plurality of vents that are angled to blow out or direct warm air from the vehicle engine and heater of the vehicle towards the windshield and wiper blades for quickly melting ice and snow thereon. The plurality of vents can be disposed near, or proximal to, the base of the windshield and the vehicle hood. The system uses internal warm air generated from the vehicle engine, and the heater of the vehicle and control same with a deicing controller. The system can be controlled by a plurality of control buttons disposed on a dashboard of the vehicle. The system can also be controlled remotely by a key fob of the vehicle.
System and method to defrost a windshield
One general aspect includes a system having one or more heat pads installed at a vehicle, the one or more heat pads configured to provide infrared energy transmissions to a vehicle component to defrost, defog, or both defrost and defog a surface of the vehicle component. The system may also carry out the following steps: (a) determining that ice or fog or both ice and fog has accumulated on the surface of the vehicle component; and (b) based on the determination made in step (a), activating the one or more heat pads to defrost, defog, or both defrost and defog a surface of the vehicle component.
WINDSHIELD
Provided is a windshield including a glass body with a rectangular shape including a peripheral edge that includes a first side and a second side and a third side that meet the first side; and a heating element disposed at or near the peripheral edge of the glass body, the heating element heating the glass body for deicing. The glass body includes a first region extending along the first side, a second region located along the first side adjacent to the first region, and a third region located along the first side adjacent to the second region on an opposite side to the first region. The heating element is disposed at least in the first region and the second region, heats the first region to higher temperatures than the second region, and heats the second region to higher temperatures than the third region.
VIBRATING VEHICLE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WITH HEATING ELEMENT
The vibrating vehicle windshield wipers with heating element for private and commercial vehicles effectively clear away snow, ice, and other inclement weather debris from both the vehicle windshield and the wipers themselves. The vibration and heating element ensure the windshield wipers remain functional at all times, eliminating the need to apply manual brushes and scrapers to a windshield and utilizes sensors to either manually or automatically trigger the heating element, controlled via the internal defrosting mechanism in the vehicle.
AUTOMATIC HEATED WIPER SYSTEM
A wiper system for vehicles is provided. The system includes a heated wiper blade assembly, a heated cowl assembly and a controller. The controller receives input from one or more sensors or systems and causes a power source to provide, reduce or stop power to heating elements in the blade and/or cowl depending upon sensed conditions. At least some components in the assembly comprise thermally conductive polymers. The system provides surprisingly advantageous results in that it is effective for melting and clearing ice and snow with a lower than expected pull on a power source such as a battery.

Heated vehicle cowl
A wiper system for vehicles is provided. The system includes a heated wiper blade assembly, a heated cowl assembly and a controller. The controller receives input from one or more sensors or systems and causes a power source to provide, reduce or stop power to heating elements in the blade and/or cowl depending upon sensed conditions. At least some components in the assembly comprise thermally conductive polymers.
