The wheel brake has an electromechanical brake actuator which is designed to build up a force, such as a braking force, acting on a brake disc of the brake system by pressing the brake lining against the brake disc, and which is assigned to a first axle of the motor vehicle. The method comprises the steps of: detecting a first wheel rotation rate and/or first wheel speed of the first motor-vehicle axle assigned to the electromechanical brake actuator; detecting a second wheel rotation rate and/or first wheel speed of the second motor-vehicle axle; and determining the state of the brake lining on the basis of the first and second wheel rotation rate and/or wheel speed. A method for suppressing braking noise in a vehicle by a central server, methods for suppressing braking noise in a vehicle to be carried out in a vehicle, and an associated central server, an associated vehicle control module and an associated data storage medium are disclosed. The data processing is divided between the vehicle and the central server.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A BRAKE SYSTEM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, CONTROL UNIT, AND MOTOR VEHICLE
Technologies and techniques for operating a brake system of a motor vehicle, including a friction braking device and a regenerative braking device, in which a need for cleaning of respective wheel brakes of the friction braking device of the motor vehicle is determined. A desired deceleration of the motor vehicle is determined based on a position of a brake pedal that is mechanically decoupled from the friction braking device. A braking force that is required for the desired deceleration of the motor vehicle is determined, and a first, predefined portion of this braking force being allocated to the regenerative braking device and the remainder of the required braking force being allocated among the wheel brakes of the friction braking device. The braking force to be provided may be distributed among the wheel brakes as a function of the determined need for cleaning of the respective wheel brakes.
Brake performance optimizer
A brake system for controlling the brake performance of a vehicle includes a brake, a control unit connected to one or more external condition sensors, and one or more brake performance sensors. The external condition sensors obtain parameters regarding conditions surrounding the vehicle, which are monitored by a driver assistance unit to estimate a probability value that the brakes should be applied to avoid a collision. The brake performance sensors obtain parameters regarding conditions of the brake. The control unit receives the obtained parameters from the external condition sensors and the estimated probability value and determines a surrounding threat level of the vehicle. The control unit receives the obtained parameters from the brake performance sensors and determines a brake performance level, and heats the at least one brake if the brake performance level is below a first level and the surrounding threat level is above a second level.
Method and system for reducing or eliminating noise generated by the disc brakes of a motor-vehicle
A vehicle braking system includes a controller that receives signals from sensors associated with vehicle disc brakes, which allow detection of a parameter indicative of a degree of noise generated from each disc brake. When noise generation is detected, the controller activates a noise attenuation function of a first type if the vehicle is braking, and of a second type if the vehicle is not braking. The first type involves reducing actuating pressure of a fluid actuator associated with the disc brake for which noise generation is detected. The second type involves temporarily activating, while the vehicle is running and not braking, the fluid actuator associated with the disc brake which is generating noise. The controller also receives signals indicative of vehicle operating parameters which allow conditions to be defined in which priority is given to vehicle safety, and in which the noise attenuation function is excluded.
