An electric braking system (1) for braking an aircraft, the system comprising: a brake (3) comprising an electromechanical actuator (5) designed so that when it applies a force to the friction members (4) that is less than or equal to a first maximum threshold, no degradation of the actuator occurs, and when it applies a force to the friction members (4) that is greater than the first maximum threshold, degradation is likely to occur; control means (7) configurable to occupy a first mode in which the controlled braking force cannot exceed the first maximum threshold, and to occupy a second mode in which the controlled braking force can reach the second maximum threshold; and configuration means (10) arranged to configure the control means (7) to occupy the second mode when in a situation preceding a potential interruption of takeoff (RTO) of the aircraft, and otherwise to occupy the first mode.

A system for multi-mode autobrake control may comprise a wheel speed sensor and a BCU electrically coupled to the wheel speed sensor. A tangible, non-transitory memory may be configured to communicate with the BCU and may have instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the BCU, cause the BCU to perform operations comprising receiving a wheel speed signal from the wheel speed sensor, inputting the wheel speed signal into an antiskid filter and a nominal filter, calculating an estimated aircraft deceleration rate, and determining an autobrake pressure command based on the estimated aircraft deceleration rate.

A braking system is disclosed. In various embodiments, the braking system includes a brake stack; an actuator configured to apply a compressive load to the brake stack; a servo valve coupled to a power source and to the actuator; and a brake control unit configured to operate the servo valve at a current ramp rate in response to a pedal deflection signal, wherein the current ramp rate is determined via a relationship between the current ramp rate and a brake pressure command signal.
Method of powering an electromechanical brake actuator for an aircraft wheel
The invention provides a method of electrically powering an electromechanical braking actuator (1) fitted to an aircraft wheel brake, in which the power supply current (I) delivered to the electromechanical braking actuator is saturated to a saturation value (Isat) in order to limit the current consumed by the electromechanical braking actuator and thereby limit the forces developed by the actuator. The method includes the step of determining the saturation value (Isat) as a function of an internal temperature (T) of the electromechanical braking actuator while it is in operation.
Vehicle braking capability determination by braking with fewer than all available braking wheels
An aircraft includes a first landing gear assembly, a second landing gear assembly, a braking circuit, a brake control circuit, and a braking capability circuit. The landing gear assemblies each include a first braking wheel and a second braking wheel. The braking circuit may apply brakes independently to each of the braking wheels. The brake control circuit actuates braking of the first braking wheels in response to initial receipt of a braking command in a first braking phase and restrict braking at the second braking wheels during the first braking phase until the first braking wheels reach an anti-skid limit at an end of the first braking phase. The braking capability circuit determines a braking capability of the aircraft based on an amount of braking applied to reach the anti-skid limit at the first braking wheels.
Locking device with a pulse-controlled rotary lock
The invention provides a locking device for preventing movement between two elements (11, 12) that are mounted to move relative to each other, the locking device including a lock (31) mounted to rotate relative to one of the elements in order to present successive angular positions for locking and for release in which the lock alternates between preventing and allowing relative movement between the two elements, the lock being constrained to rotate with a selector (55) of an angular indexing mechanism (50) actuated by a pulse-controlled actuator (70, 71) arranged to push the selector against a spring member (58) in order to cause it to turn on each pulse and thereby cause the lock to pass from one angular position to the other.
AIRCRAFT SYSTEM
An aircraft system for an aircraft is disclosed having a controller that is configured to receive at least one signal during a landing procedure of the aircraft and to determine that the aircraft is at a predetermined stage in the landing procedure, on the basis of the at least one signal. The predetermined stage in the landing procedure is before a command to extend at least one landing gear of the aircraft is issued during the landing procedure. The controller is configured to cause initiation of at least a part of a procedure to interrogate an aircraft braking system, on the basis of the determination.
Emergency braking method for an aircraft
An emergency braking method for aircraft, comprising using a progressing parking brake controlled by a lever (10) that can be actuated by the pilot between a “0%” position in which the brakes are connected to the return pressure of the aircraft, and a “100%” position in which the brakes are connected to the feed pressure of the aircraft, the lever being blockable in the 100% position in order to provide parking braking when the aircraft is stationary. According to the invention, the emergency braking method being characterized in that it comprises: using a valve having an outlet port connected to the brakes, a return port, and a feed port, the valve presenting a state connecting the outlet port to the return port and a state connecting the outlet port to the feed port; and controlling the valve to occupy one or other of those states by pulse width modulation (PWM) having a duty ratio (R) that is a function of the position of the lever in order to deliver the brakes with pressure lying in the range return pressure to feed pressure, depending on the position of the lever.
