The present invention concerns a braking device for a vehicle. It is the purpose of the present invention to enable automatic braking upon detection of a braking action of a preceding vehicle which is concealed by an obstacle. The braking device for a vehicle according to the invention, comprises a brake pedal, a brake actuator, a control unit which is adapted to activate the brake actuator in dependence on the position of the brake pedal; wherein the brake actuator is activatable in dependence on a first signal, and wherein the first signal contains information about a first characteristic of a preceding vehicle covered by an obstacle, characterized in that the braking device is adapted to receive the first signal from a stationary transmitter.

The present invention concerns a braking device for a vehicle. A method for operating a vehicle having a transmission and a braking device during a journey, during which the vehicle, the transmission of which comprises at least one form-fitting shifting element, moves along a roadway, wherein during the journey of the motor vehicle, its shifting element is movable into formfitting interaction with at least one further component, an anti-lock braking operation is carried out by the braking device, in which at least one braking torque to be applied by the braking device to at least one wheel of the vehicle for braking the wheel is limited at least temporarily to a specifiable value by a regulating device of the vehicle in order to thereby at least temporarily prevent the wheel from locking relative to the roadway.

A control device is applied to a vehicle that has a braking device configured to be able to adjust the braking force applied to the vehicle. The control device has a stopping braking force imparting unit that controls the braking device in order to apply a stopping braking force to the vehicle, as a minimum value of the braking force required to keep the vehicle stopped. The control device also has a deviation quantity deriving unit that derives a deviation quantity between a state quantity of the vehicle obtained when the stopping braking force is applied to the vehicle by the stopping braking force imparting unit and an ideal value of the state quantity of the vehicle. The braking preparation signal is generated as soon as a driving situation is ascertained where a braking request input by a driver or an assistance system is very likely imminent.

A braking device for a motor vehicle has a setpoint controlled deceleration device, which, upon receipt of a braking request input by a driver or an assistance system, for example, on the basis of a difference between a setpoint value and an actual value, drives a brake of the vehicle to generate a setpoint controlled braking torque for a deceleration of the motor vehicle. In addition, the braking device has a braking preparation control, which, upon receipt of a braking preparation signal, drives the brake independently of the setpoint value to produce at least one braking pressure for generating a preparation braking torque for a pre-deceleration of the motor vehicle. The front and rear wheel braking distribution controlling unit is configured to start the front and rear wheel braking distribution control on front and rear wheels of one of left and right sides if an absolute value of a wheel deceleration of the front wheel is equal to or larger than a first threshold and an absolute value of a wheel deceleration of the rear wheel is equal to or larger than a second threshold.
