INTELLIGENT ADVANCED ENGINE BRAKING SYSTEM
A system and method for slowing a vehicle. Road conditions around the vehicle are monitored, and determined if those road conditions are hazardous. An engine control unit is informed of the hazardous road conditions and alters the operation of the engine control unit in response to the hazardous road conditions. When an operator of the vehicle desires to slow the vehicle down, an indication is received indicating the intent to slow the vehicle down. The vehicle is then slowed based upon the altered operation of the engine control unit by applying a vacuum to increase a manifold vacuum of the engine.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A HYBRID DRIVE TRAIN
A method for operating a hybrid drive train includes ascertaining an actual state vector of an internal combustion engine of the hybrid drive train; ascertaining a target power of the internal combustion engine; determining a target fuel mass flow for the internal combustion engine as a function of the target power of the internal combustion engine; determining a limit fuel mass flow of the internal combustion engine as a function of an emission limiting value, the target fuel mass flow, and the actual state vector of the internal combustion engine; determining a setpoint fuel mass flow by forming a minimum value as a function of the target fuel mass flow and the limit fuel mass flow; and setting the setpoint fuel mass flow at the internal combustion engine.
Systems and methods for online power management for hybrid powertrains
At least some embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods of online power management for hybrid powertrains. In some embodiments, the hybrid powertrain control system is configured to conduct a brake-thermal-efficiency (BTE) estimation procedure when the powertrain is in operation by operating the hybrid powertrain at a plurality of speeds for a plurality of designated power levels and select certain BTE operating conditions to update the power management.
Braking force control system, device, and method
A vehicular breaking force control system that includes a control device including a processor that acquires a plurality of longitudinal accelerations from a driving assistance system, and calculates a driving/braking request when the vehicle is in a coasting state in which an acceleration operation or a deceleration operation are not performed during running of the vehicle. The processor further acquires a driving force lower limit set for a powertrain actuator having a set gear ratio, and distributes the driving/braking request to at least one of (i) a powertrain system including the powertrain actuator and (ii) a brake system including a brake actuator. The driving/braking request is distributed to the at least one of the powertrain system and the brake system based on the acquired driving force lower limit.
Engine unit and hybrid vehicle including engine unit
An engine unit includes: an engine that is able to independently inject fuel into cylinders; a cleaning device that cleans exhaust gas from the engine; and a control device that performs low-temperature starting control for increasing an amount of injected fuel when the engine is started at a low temperature. The control device performs temperature increase control for performing fuel cutoff for some cylinders of the engine and increasing an amount of fuel injected into other cylinders after an increase in an amount of fuel in the low-temperature starting control has reached a first predetermined amount when an increase in temperature of the cleaning device is requested while the low-temperature starting control is being performed.
APPARATUS OF CONTROLLING MODE SWITCHING TRANSITIONS IN MULTI-COMBUSTION MODE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH A HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM
Engine combustion mode-switching transitions are controlled through a coordination control of an electric machine and a multi-combustion mode engine coupled to each other with a hybrid propulsion system by following predetermined combustion mode-switching strategies and control algorithms.
METHOD FOR OPTIMISING THE TIME GRADIENT OF THE PRESSURE INCREASE IN AN INJECTION SYSTEM OF A HYBRID MOTOR VEHICLE
Disclosed is a method for optimizing the time gradient of the pressure increase in a fuel injection system of a hybrid motor vehicle. The method determines and uses the engine torque generated by the electric machine of the vehicle to reduce the engine torque generated by the internal combustion engine of the vehicle and allow the high-pressure pump of the internal combustion engine to generate, if applicable, a higher value of the time gradient of the pressure increase in the common supply chamber of its injection system.
INCENTIVE GRANTING SYSTEM AND INCENTIVE GRANTING METHOD
An incentive granting system grants an incentive to CO.sub.2 reduction traveling by a user of the vehicle that directly or indirectly emits CO.sub.2. The incentive granting system includes one or more processors, and is configured to grant a reward point to the user, in the vehicle traveling from a current location to a destination, based on at least one of selection of a traveling route in which a CO.sub.2 emission amount is reduced with respect to a standard traveling route, selection of a traveling mode, and reduction of an actual CO.sub.2 emission amount with respect to a standard CO.sub.2 emission amount.
Method for operating a working vehicle-working device combination
A method for operating a working vehicle-working device combination having a part system for adjusting the working vehicle-working device combination includes determining a motor torque of a motor of the working vehicle-working device combination based on a motor parameter, determining a first loss torque based on at least one motor loss parameter of the motor, determining a second loss torque based on at least one load parameter of a load system of the working vehicle-working device combination, determining an output torque of the working vehicle-working device combination based on the motor torque and the first and second loss torques, and performing a control operation on the working vehicle-working device combination or on the part system based on the output torque.
METHOD FOR ENGINE BRAKING AND POWERTRAIN
A method for engine braking of a vehicle includes: —detecting a state indicative of a desired engine braking of the vehicle, and—controlling an engine speed to a set engine speed target value by controlling a powertrain component in response to the detected state of a desired engine braking.
